This book examines case studies of Ethiopian immigrant family experiences in the Seattle area. While the reader is not given the full, descriptive stories of the people interviewed (that would have made for much more interesting reading), the glimpses into culture, business, education, spiritual experience, etc. are enough to give an important though vague picture of the current state of affairs. Odd but interesting book. More or less a scholarly book, it is nonetheless written in an odd voice. But it provides an interesting peek into Seattle's Ethiopian community. It's sad how difficult our society makes things for them.
