I keep waiting for this series to lose momentum, become a little less interesting but it's just not going to happen. I even switched to the audiobook format and found one more reason to love the books. Everything about it seems to work, striking that perfect pitch between the suspense and romance.

Quick summary
D.C. Detective Samantha (Sam) Holland and U.S. Senator Nick Cappuano (VA) are fresh from their romantic engagement when he gets a desperate call from Arizona Senator Henry Lightfeather, a

Fatal Consequences is the third book in the Fatal series and my absolute favorite of them all, so far. Being a huge fan of Romantic Suspense I've read a lot of it, so it takes quite a bit to impress me. Well, let me tell you, Marie Force has definitely done that!

So far each book in this series has been excellent, and has kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. Nick and Samantha, the main characters and whose lives we follow through each book, are the kinds of peop
I have read a lot of books by Marie Force, her contemporaries as well as romantic-suspense, and she never ceases to amaze and surprise me.
Everyone who has read my reviews of Fatal Affair and Fatal Justice knows that I am a big fan of the series but Fatal Consequences made me a groupie!

Sam and Nick are engaged to be married and attending her father’s wedding when a fellow Senator of Nicks calls and interrupts their day off. The married Senator from Arizona just discovered the cleaning lady from t

Recommends it for: Everyone who likes RS
I had thought that the previous 2 books in this series had been outstanding but I was completely blown away with this one. If you love RS and you haven't read this series yet then I cannot recommend it enough.

I am not usually a fan of RS where the books continue on with the same couple as the main focus, as I have found that the romance side tends to suffer but this is definitely not the case with this series. Ms Force still pays just as much attention to the romance and we get to see the relati
I absolutely love this series. Each book gets better and better. I love Nick and Sam and all the other characters, that constantly put a smile on my face. Oh Nick Cappuano, how I heart you ;)
Here's what I hate about Marie Force books. They end and I want to keep reading them!

This was another wonderful installment of the Fatal Series by this wonderful author! I am feeling a huge girl crush on Ms. Force right now! :)

Nick and Sam are so wonderful. Everytime he says, "Samantha" I get all fluttery to use Sam's word.

I do have one small complaint. It's not anything major. At the end of the book something happens. I had tears in my eyes reading this. I would like to have been in Nick's head

The murder of two members of the Capitol Cleaning Service might’ve been just another homicide investigation—that is if one of them hadn’t been romantically involved with a married senator from Arizona. Lt. Sam Holland and her team are plunged into another complex case that at first seems open and shut. But as Sam tugs on the threads of the investigation she uncovers a deep, dark Washington secret that threatens the careers of some of the government’s highest-ranking officials. Racing to catch a ...more
Loving it so far...I have such a long TBR list that I have this and my next three books up on my currently reading excited for all four of these books!

Edge of my seat...great suspense in this one and I wish I didn't have to be at work today...would have loved to just finish it last night...but morning comes so quickly....ugggg

It is official: Marie Force has been added to my must read authors (those who I would read even if they wrote the phone book)... Sam and Nick are just too c

"Fatal Consequences" continues the series starring Nick and Sam, who have moved themselves into first place as my favorite couple in a romantic suspense series. I just love the chemistry between these two and find that a number of the secondary characters are endearing themselves to me as well. There's so much reading enjoyment in the creative case plots and character development. Mixed with witty humor and romance that leaves you breathless and you've got yourself a well-rounded "must-read" ser ...more
I have struggled with this book and entire series as I seem to keep comparing characters, plot lines even conversation points to the JD Robb InDeath series. A good friend recommended I put away the comparisons and critiques and just enjoy the stories as they are written.
I guess I needed that push. I do love the way that while the series focus is Sam and Nick, Force gives a lot of page time to the other key couples in the series. The case was interesting and well paced and I enjoyed the way good
Great read - love that the setting for these books is in Washington, DC - where else can you find so much corruption! Learned something new from this book - "anchor babies" - never heard of that before. Marie Force weaves a great web of suspence, twists, turns, and has done a pile of research.

Really liking this series - great character developments and lots of them and all with plenty of flaws.

Two thumbs up!
This series is amazing!
I've never been a big fan of suspense but I guess that changed after the Fatal series.
I loved it! I love the plot, the characters, the investigations and I specially love senator Nick Capuano.
So, if you're looking for a great romance, an interesting an exciting world building, lovable characters, intelligent dialogues and a good mistery, you definetly should read this books.
WHHHHY!! Why did I wait to read this book. I hate that I left Fatal Consequences lingering on Mount TBR. I blame it on the old adage toooooo many good books...too little time. It was sooooo good. A perfect storm of Nick and Sam.

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. Given the climate on the US political scene right now...disgraced 5 star Generals having affairs putting their careers in jeopardy...I couldn’t help but compare it to what Marie Force serves up in Fatal Consequences even though it

This book..this series was and is AMAZING! What I like the most about it is that the Author kept the main characters throughout. The reader is able to see how their relationship, and the intense changes in their lives affect them and the people around them. (Keeping the same main characters is one of the things that attracts me to The Guild Hunter, Night Huntress, Kate Daniels, and Chicagoland Vampire Series).

Nick and Sam are strong, intelligent, compassionate, and broken characters, but the rea

Sam seemed a little more careless in this book, and her obsession with her fathers case is going to cause problems in the future.

Like I said in 2011, I love spending time with these characters and I have to keep reminding myself that they are not real people!!! :)

first read 9/17/11-9/19/2011

Not only is it great to spend time with Nick and Sam, but there always seems to be a suspenseful story going on.

I think that is it safe to say that Marie Force will be an auto buy from now on.

Couldn't wait to get to the next installment of the Fatal series and it did not disappoint. This was some case for Sam and the MPD to solve and boy did they do a bang up job. This was also such an emotional book, for Sam and Nick, for Tommy and Christina and for Freddie. (cant wait to see what happens there)

And I can't stand Stahl...I hope he gets fired very soon, Marie has the best way of describing him where it makes you want to punch him in the face everytime. I want to know what he is so hap

I am not so sure that the news is great for Mrs. Force. I don't know how she is going to top this one. Fatal Consequences was my favorite of the series so far, and really that is saying a lot since I have loved the first 2 immensely. It was so great to see some of the other charters get more story in this one, cause I am totally smitten with Gonzo and Christina. I really enjoyed getting to know Scotty and I have high hopes as to where that relationship heads. The action is great, the characters ...more

Oh, I'm tempted to say this was my favorite of the series, but I just can't. All three are equally amazing. I love that we are getting to know each of the minor characters so well that they aren't very minor anymore. Gonzo and Cruz are very endearing and I hope to read more about them in the next two books. And McBride...OMG!! Why, why, why??? I won't say anymore but that storyline Will we see Scotty again?? I hope so.

Another fabulous book by Marie Force.

Is it September yet? I need,

Each book in this series is better than the previous! The third installment in the series, this book is intense as Lt. Samantha Holland goes after the best kept secret in D.C., a high level prostitution ring.

Love this series and I'm anxious to read the next installment.

This is the 3rd installment in the Fatal Series and I have to say it is the best yet! The suspense was fantastic and kept you guessing. And as always the characters were so well written. Definitely a must read!!
OMG!!! Another stunning winner in the Fatal Series!!! I adore Sam and Nick so much and I love Marie Force for continuing to write such amazing books! I don't even have the words to describe how awesome these stories.
Amazing! This was my favorite of the Fatal series and I loved the previous two. I couldn't put it down and I didn't want it to end. I hope Marie Force continues this series for a long, long time.
I have been hooked on Sam and Nick since the first book in the series. This newest addition is my favorite so far!
Why oh why does Sam feel the right to continually stick her nose into Freddie and Tommy's lives. Yes, I get they are supposedly friends but I see no evidence that supports that claim seeing as they don't really spend time together outside of work. I'd let this slide if there was even one measly scene where they all go out for a bite or for drinks after work.
Aside from that the plot was once again solid and the story moved along nicely. Also, maybe Nick should become the detective. Once again the
This is the 3rd book in the Fatal series. Nick and Sam are finally engaged. They are such a cute couple and although in this book they have less drama, is still interesting to read about their relationship development and catching up with Freddie and Gonzo and the rest of the DC cops. Is like catching up with old friends.

Two cleaning ladies of the Capitol was found dead and Sam is once again embroiled into an investigation of a political scandal. From the excerpt in the beginning of the book, it
Fatal Consequences was a great addition to Marie Force's Fatal Series. I was very fortunate to be able to get an ARC of this book from Netgalley. With each book in this wonderful romantic suspense series, I like the characters of Nick Cappuana and Sam Holland more and more. I love the relationship between the two of them, and each book in the series has a great storyline as well.

In this installment of the series, Sam investigates the murders of two cleaning ladies from Nick's building. As she de

A much better installment to the series than #2, and I devoured this yarn. I still say it feels like a soap opera, but boy, I am hooked. Sam and Nick are really feeling like a couple who have been together a while. It's hard to believe it's only been 2 calendar months since they've reunited. But, living together and dealing with his and her job demands and all the personal drama between both of their lives have force this couple to live in a crucible and sink or swim together. Of course they thr ...more
Sam and Nick - DC's favorite couple. As they prepare to get married, Sam finds herself investigating yet another high profile murder case. When it comes to light that a Senator has been sleeping with a member of the cleaning crew - and she winds up dead - Sam knows there's more to the story than what first appears. Her gut rarely steers her wrong, and it's absolutely correct in this one. She finds herself investigating several political figures - some in very high places.

But the murderer is conv
It's a strong 3.5, 3+ for Fatal Consequences and the weaker half for Fatal Destiny the novella all about Sam and Nick's wedding. In the main book we have tons of action: Sam's dad's wedding (ultra tacky), a senator friend of Nick's calling for Sam after discovering his girlfriend dead, a call girl ring, Sam's ex-husband, an orphan who charms Nick and a wedding planner nicknamed "Tinkerbelle" by Sam who always wears pink.

More high drama from a kidnapped cop, Nick's estranged mother, Samantha's bo

“Be careful with my fiancée. I love her more than life itself.

Nick...You make me all fluttery. No one has ever made me fluttery. How do you that?

Ridiculously pleased he smiled. What can I say? It's magic. Take care, babe.”
