It is far more acceptable to have the opportunity to be in the physical presence of a teacher when exploring any aspect of Tibetan Buddhism. In lieu of that there are a some amazing texts that can teach you step by step various practices. For someone with foundational knowledge of Tibetan Buddhism and an understanding of what the Medicine Buddha represents, this text is a must have for anyone wishing to practice Menla's sadhana.
