A stunning visual companion to the newest film from Tim Burton (The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), featuring storyboards, movie stills, and Burton's own drawings.

Corpse Bride carries on in the dark, romantic tradition of Tim Burton's classic films Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Set in a 19th ce...more

Recommends it for: fans of Corpse Bride or stop-motion animation
Shelves: halloween, film
Having seen "Corpse Bride," I really enjoyed this book; the last third is devoted to a sort of synopsis of the film, while the rest of the book tells how it was made. It was really interesting to see how stop-motion works, how the voices for the characters were chosen, and how the whole thing came together.
Truly die-hard fans of either the movie or of animation might wish for more detail, as this was more of an overview of the process, but I didn't feel shorted. Best of all, the...more

It's always fascinating to take a look at how Tim Burton puts his strange movies together. Lots of photos of the miniature sets and characters and plenty of conceptual art. Tim Burton rocks!

A truly original book(or movie) that I loved

Anna Motteler

Ah, the book was alright, but the movie is ten times better.

I guess when books are made into movies, they suck.
But when movies are made into books, they're good.
weird?

“One of the things that we were trying to do with this show was the complexities of relationships and love. There is both passion and longing and a bittersweet quality to it that is a part of life.'
