Fun light reads. Good stuff. I like the characters in these books and I think this series is the better of the non-Plum books. Read the number books first and then stray on over to these once you get a taste for the wonder and wackiness that is Janet Evanovich.

This was my first time reading a romance by the Evanovich/Hughes duo and it was okay, hence the Goodreads 2-star rating (2 stars = it was okay). There were some entertaining aspects that made me smile and there were some blah parts that made it hard to get through.

Max is definitely my favorite aspect of of the book. I'll admit, he seems a bit unrealistic - a little TOO perfect with his uber richness, his computerized car with a personality, his private jet, etc... But he comes acros...more

I'm most fond of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum mysteries and usually the "Full" series falls a bit short. This 4th installment, however, comes close with the quirky characters you grow so attached to, that Janet Evanovich is famous for.

So far, Full Blast is the funniest and steamiest in the series. There's certainly a couple parts you want to be sure to read by yourself, if you're prone to blushing!

A steamy romance, over-the-top characters, a car that costs 2 Mil...more

Another day another Evanovich book. I don't know what's wrong with me, but I don't feel the zing between Max & Jamie. I want to. But it seems she thought she was in love with her fiance when she met Max, but then she decided she liked Max more, but not really because she didn't trust him completely. And she is obsessed with her job (much like Stephanie Plum) making constant stupid choices that put her safety at risk to accomplish them. Maybe it's the character's themselves. They seem a li...more
Jaime
This was another fun quick Evanovich read. The mystery here is closer to home than in the previous book, and it looks like Max and Jamie might actually be getting more serious. Not a lot of substance here, but enough fun to keep me reading!

Another amazing Evanovich novel!!

From back cover:
"There's never a dull moment for the residents of Beaumont, South Carolina. Lately, a heat wave's spiked the mercury and everyone's sex drive! These days, when Jamie runs into Max, it's all she can do not to tear his clothes off and the feeling is mutual.

But trouble seems to follow Max like moths to a flame, and Jamie suspects he's all wrong for her. Meanwhile, the lingerie shop is having a sale on edible underwe...more

I've read this whole series very out of order but this is my 5th of the "Full" books. This is pretty easily my favorite. I liked that it was set in Jamie's home town instead of away like Full Speed. I liked that it involved more of Jamie and Max's relationship instead of Full Tilt. And I liked the mystery part.

Still I don't like these books as much as the Stephanie Plum books. I don't think they are nearly as funny, and I find something really cheesy about these character...more

This book is starting to show some of Evanovich telltale signs: the .38 Smith & Wesson, a dog with funny personality traits, lots of wisecracking, a Grandma Mazur-like character (Vera Bankhead) and an action-packed (sometimes dangerous) adventure. This was a very fast read for me but I wish it were funnier, like the Stephanie Plum series. I loved the ending though - it was very cute which had me smiling. This book feels like a romantic comedy with some suspense parts. I wouldn't recommend it but...more

Like all of Janet Evanovich's books - a light read. However this was not up to the standard of the other "Full..." series (and not even close to the Stephanie Plum series). It's really more of a romance "bodice ripper" with a bit of a thriller thrown in as an afterthough. I wouldn't particularly recommend it unless you find a copy left in an airport waiting area and you just finished your last novel.

Eh.. regular fiction is not my thing.. my wife gave me this one to read to see if she might like it. It was well-written and had an entertaining mysteryish ending. I was not terribly impressed though. The most interesting character for me was the psychic Destiny. Absolutely funny. Okay okay.. so I like it a little. I admit it.. but not enough to keep in my permanent collection.

Things are heating up in Beaumont. There is a heat wave and all kinds of craziness going on in town. Aphrodisiac-laced brownies, a new lingerie store, sex, murder, overzealous preachers, psychics, personal ads, more sex, horny poodles, and pregnancy... and Jamie Swift and Max find themselves caught up in the middle of it all. I especially enjoyed the advice letters at the end.
Rebecca
I don't know why exactly it doesn't get more stars. It just didn't interest me at all. It seemed mostly to drag on and be more interested in the family and personal aspects than in the serious crimes going on in the neighborhood. It probably would be less inappropriate if I had expected chic lit or a romance novel instead of expecting a mystery or a good cozy mystery.

THE STORY LINE IS DELIGHTFUL. THE OWNER OF A NEWSPAPER IS ON A MISSION TO FIND THE MURDERER OF TWO WOMEN IN THE SMALL TOWN OF BEAUMONT. PERSONAL ADS FROM HER PAPER ARE A CLUE, WITH THE HELP OF A MILLIONARE LOVE INTEREST, TOWN SHERIFF, A PHYSIC AND ARRAY OF COLORFUL CHARACTERS MYSTERY IS SOLVED JUST BEFORE ANOTHER VERY CLOSE FRIEND IS ALMOST MURDERED.

Nana McKune
Max and Jamie together again. Ladies in town are getting murdered. Jamie is afraid it might be because of her new "Personals column". She calls Max to help find the killer (or is it just an excuse to see him again?). A psychic applies for a job and predicts the 2nd murder, and helps them in the investigation.

Really found the book rather annoying. I listened to it on tape, and suspect it was more the voices than anything else. I may have enjoyed it more if I read it. I just could not get past the ditzyness of all the female characters. I found myself hoping that they were the next victim more than anything else.

I recommend this series. Loved this book. She is my favorite author. Mystery, romance and funny what more could you ask for?

Other authors that I like:
James Patterson: Women's Murder Club.
Janet Evanovich
J.A. Knrath: Jack Daniels Series
Lisa Lutz: Spellmans Series.
Genevieve
All 4 of these were good. The main character, Jamie, isn't as much fun as Stephanie Plum. But she's ok. I liked the first book in the series and the last book the best because of the DeeDee character. She's so innocent and cute.
Melissa
Full Blast has Jamie and Max tracking a serial killer who is finding their victijms in Jamies personal section in the paper. Along the way Jamie hires a physic to work at the paper. This book has a lot more steam than the others.
Robin
Another Jamies Swift and Max Holt "crime romance novel. Not as good as the previous one. The book's storyline seemed less developed as the previous books. Jamie and Max are still not as good as the Stephanie Plum books.
Mommalibrarian
The library messed up and shelved this in the mystery section. It is a fluffy romance. I did not care for it at all. I am sure as a romance it is typical but it is a feather-weight in the mystery category.
Lori
Very light, fun read! Evanovich is always good for a guilty pleasure laugh. Not a strong as the Stephanie Plum series, and definitely geered more towards the romance, but I enjoyed. This is the only one I've read of the series and was able to hop right in.
Lauren
Fun to play with the same group of Southerners but this was a bit racey for me, I prefer my book sex more "suggestion" but it was still fun and light, even with two dead women in town.
Gail
this was my first Evanovich, so did not know what to expect...more a romance novel with a touch of a mystery, I would prefer the other way around. Very easy summer read with a bit of humor; but if it is truly a dramatic or suspensful mystery novel you are looking for, this isn't it.

these books are easy, fast and silly reads that are light romance and mystery. if you need a mind numbing break from a more serious book this would be it.
Nikki
The book was very good, but the romance sections of the book went into much greater detail than what I'm used to reading in Janet Evanovich books. That must be the workings of Charlotte Hughs. Im sure I was blushing at one point!
Sue Huhn
These early Evanovich books are fun and easy reads. The only thing I didn't like about this one was some of the murder victims.
Marty
A fun and quick read - while not QUITE as delightful as her number series, Evanavish still makes me laugh and I enjoy her books.
