Shelves: poetry
I don't read books of poetry because I love poetry in general. In fact, I am indifferent to or dislike most poetry. I read books of poetry because, occasionally, I find poems that are so sublime, that speak to me so clearly, that they make up for everything else. If I find even one of those in a book of poetry, it's a worthwhile read to me, and there were definitely a couple in this one. Catherine Reilly (4 April 1925 – 26 September 2005) was a British bibliographer and anthologist of women's poetry of the First and Second World Wars. She collected the poetry of female poets and published it in two 1984 anthologies - Scars Upon My Heart: Women's Poetry and Verse of the First World War and Chaos of the Night: Women's Poetry and Verse of World War Two.
