This is a classic book for those interested in humanitarian aid. It is also a standard for the organization I work at, American Refugee Committee. It gave me a good glimpse into the life and work of expats out in the field at refugee camps. Louis went on 10 different tours with ARC to Thailand and this book is made up of his almost daily letters to his wife on each tour.
