رستم و اسفنديار چالشي ميان ويژگي هاي مردان است.نبرد بر سر نام و ننگ.رستم كه طوس هم او را دست بسته نزد كاوس نتوانست بردن به دست كودكي چون اسفنديار اسير شدن برايش ناشدني است.اسفنديار در اوج جواني و خامي نمي داند به نبرد پشت و پناه ايران آمده هوس پادشاهي او را كور نموده است.
اما از اين ها گذشته گويا استاد بزرگ ما درسي جانانه و پندي پيرانه نيز به ما مي دهد.اگر درست ببينيم همه ي اين نبردها پس از پادشاهي گشتاسب شاه از سر دين و دينداري است.موبدان پيش از زرتشت كسي است كه با آتش زدن پر سيمرغ سر مي رسد پهل
Shahname can be traced back to collector/poets who shaped the story from a variety of sources and wrote it down. But the epic were, and still is, oral performances. These texts don't end with the page. They are part of living oral traditions, and even today some stories connected to these epics have not been written down.
Ferdowsi started his composition of the Shahnameh in the Samanid era in 977 A.D and completed it around 1010 A.D. during the Ghaznavid era.”
