The downside of having read too much Sidney Sheldon is that you already know what to expect – surprising plot twists. That is why while reading this book I was already making bets with myself as to who the real culprit was. The thing is, Sheldon spoiled the fun for me as he already revealed the perpetrator early on in the story. Or so I thought. Because a few pages before it ends, something turns the story around. But still, the surprise I was preparing myself for wasn’t as that much of a surpri...more

Wow!! One of the best Sidney Sheldon I have read. The book is a classic. You never know what to expect as you keep turning pages. The plot is a good old one - a wealthy father cruel to his children and the children trying to get hold of their father's wealth. But Sidney has made it a refreshing tale filled with twists and turns that make you feel if riding in a roller coaster is better. The witty and cold - blooded Judge Tyler Stanford, the soft Kendall Stanford, the drug addict Woodrow Stanford make...more

Morning, Noon & Night by Sidney Sheldon leads us into the world of power and deceit.

Harry Stanford is not a nice man; however he is a powerful one. Harry built an empire worth millions, but to whom should he bequeath this wealth if he should ever leave the world. He has estranged himself from all three of his children because of his cruel behavior toward them. His oldest son becomes a judge, his daughter becomes a high-fashion model/designer, and his youngest son - well, technically he is a...more

The book was good. A very typical Sidney Sheldon book. Hence, there is lots of twists and turns. But since there was so many big twists in the middle, that the final twist was expected and it rather looked like a smaller twist than the first one. When everything fell into piece, one can certainly predict what the final twist is going to be. I certainly did. But all in all, it was a good read...

Once again, everything you could hope for in a Sidney Sheldon novel: bland title, power-hungry and deceitful characters, and many twists and turns along the way. I had fun guessing what would happen, and even though I got most of them right, I also guessed a few of them incorrectly (the fun part about his books is that anything can happen, so it's all fair game). Recommends it for: only Sheldon fans
A typical property based novel and yet Sheldon writes it so beautifully to make it immensely captivating. To me its the first Sheldon novel that doesn't feature a strong woman character and sensuous scenes. But it does feature typical Sheldon twists and turns that makes it enjoyable.

When I pick up a Sidney Sheldon - always with a sense of reverence - I know that I am going to get an intricate work of art, a book deep with nuance and plot twists and character development. While this novel was certainly a good afternoon read it was lacking a certain something that other Sheldon novels have in spades. Had this novel had anyone else's name on the cover I would perhaps have ranked it more highly, but with the Sidney Sheldon name plastered over the front I already had expectation...more

Unexpected things happen in Morning, Noon & Night. My interest just grew as I went through page after page.

Morning, Noon and Night by Sidney Sheldon is an easy, quick-read and enjoyable novel filled with intrigue and subterfuge. Having read several novels by Sidney Sheldon, I was looking for and anticipating interesting twists which I have come to expect from this author. I certainly was not disappointed as many curve balls were thrown but I was surprised by the one where I learned that the cruel, wealthy billionaire, Harry Stanford, actually had no money at all. I guess that is what makes Sidney She...more

This leaves me with the exact same feeling books by Mary Higgins Clark do. The plot is chuck full of twists, it's an easy read and the characters don’t really matter that much. It’s a somewhat entertaining yet completely forgettable read.

The writing is very matter-of-fact. Very little description is used and when it is, it’s forgettable and not really worth mentioning. At first the writer seemed to be going for a style with a mixture of present and past, but he soon forget and it was a bit of a...more

Multi-billionaire Harry Sanford is running from something, but no one is sure exactly why he is trying to hide. Then he turns up dead, supposedly an accidental drowning while chasing some papers about his yacht while anchored in Corsica.

Harry was not an easy man to life or work with. He mocked, belittled, and emotionally tortured his three children during their childhood. His staff was treated only slightly worse. A well-known womanizer, only his wife is shocked by his affair with the children’s...more

This was a good story, not a great one. I've known of Sheldon's work in the past, though I never read his books before. For his popular reputation, I expected something more coherently written and suspenseful. This was published during the latter part of his life. It was like he had dug up an old manuscript and submitted it without reviewing it much--I felt it to be choppy, the characters weren't well developed, and there were lots of empty spaces between paragraphs. The characters were the equi...more

Twists and turns and ups and downs - this book had me going down one path and just when I least expected it, I was catipalted onto a different path. And I loved it! Beyond predictable, but still enjoyable to try to see if I could guess as to where the story would lead. I randomly picked it up from my library's ebook collection and it fit into a challenge I do with a group on GoodReads.

A story of a wealthy father of three children who sent them away at a young age and belittled them from the mome...more

It's been a long time since I've read any of Sidney Sheldon's books and as always they are interesting, a fast read, and always a surprise ending. I love his writing style, how he can hook me into the book in the first couple pages, his colorful characters, and his interesting plots. If you like mysteries, you will probably like his books. I sure do.

I have read lots of sidney sheldon novels...are you afraid of the dark, bloodline,if tomorrow comes, tell me your dreams.....all of them being fantastic novels i expected a bit more from this one...it ended just as the steam had started gathering up....no suspense..a bit predictable...not one of sheldon's best for me...

I have a habit of starting and keeping the book aside half way through. I wasn't able to let this book go and this is my first book I read completely cover to cover. This is the first book that read of Sidney Sheldon's, it was an amazing journey to started with in admiring him and reading his books further!

What did I think?

I like the plot, but I don't love it.

Too much twists and turns, too much flash blacks. Sidney always portrays his novels in a dog-eat-dog world and this one is no exception.

Every time I read Sidney Sheldon, it feels like an important element is lacking. What it was, I really don't know.

This one, juts like the others, was a full description of power, ambition, family and greed. Legal, economic and political aspects were slightly inserted in a flawless form. The character of Juli...more

It's like one of those magic tricks where the magician shows you his hands to show he is not hiding any cards, and then produces them out of thin air. My second favorite SS book after If Tomorrow Comes. Full of unexpected twists and turns. Character development at its best.

This book has been on my shelves for a bit. Came up next on my book list. Nice quick weekend read. There were several things going on in this book and I enjoyed trying to figure out all the different plots goin on. It didn't end the way I thought but it was still a happy ending.

Twists on this family-fighting-for-inheritance (of Harry Stanford) tale are interesting. Sheldon has a way of revealing clues that sometimes makes you wish he kept you guessing longer. Still, I'm enticed to read more by him since it is enjoyable and develops quickly.

Was an American writer who won awards in three careers—a Broadway playwright, a Hollywood TV and movie screenwriter, and a best-selling novelist. His TV works spanned a 20-year period during which he created I Dream of Jeannie (1965-70), Hart to Hart (1979-84), and The Patty Duke Show (1963-66), but it was not until after he turned 50 and began writing best-selling novels such as Master of the Gam...more
