I have recently fallen in love with Mary Hershey's books about the life of Effeline Maloney. The sequel to this book, "10 Good Things That Have Happened Since I Nearly Got Struck By Lightning," features an event in this story, which provided me with a reason to read it. "My Big Sister Is So Bossy She Says You Can't Read This Book" is a touching, exciting, funny, and lovable girls-only story. Mary Hershey gave such detail and apprehension about Effie's life that you feel as if you yourself are Ef ...more

My 4th grade grand daughter has read and reread this, then she brought this over and wanted me to read it. So I did. It was a fun book!

It was really touching and fun
This story seemed a little bit of an odd-ball, in or out story. I picked it up hoping it would tell me what a realistic big sister would like to younger siblings, (since I myself am an older sister.) However this story taught me no valuable lessons what so ever. It seemed very awkward to be in our library, with all of the "interesting" moments.

This book is great!!!!! Even though I started it today, by the first like 7 pages it is great.
And if you are 12 or so it gives you great tipsto handle little siters. Well if your not intrested you don't have to read this book. But if you are 12 or 11 then you should read this bok.

If you decide to read it I hope you enjoy it like me.
I thought it was going to be a fluff sort of book, but it was anything but. Effie's dad is in prison for a white collar crime, and her big sis has stolen money from the Scout's treasury. This story is well written and a hidden treasure. It's much more than I anticipated.
I didn't really like this book. i thought the story wasn't original, and the characters were totally fake.
Actually an interesting book just picked it up at the library I would say more of a girl fiction:)
