Things Go Wrong For Me (when life hands you lemons, add vodka) is a memoir of sorts, a roadmap of Rodney Lacroix's haywire life thus far. From his childhood, through the raising of his own kids, to his vasectomy and post-divorce world ... this book is more than just a culmination of outrageous stories woven into a cohesive narrative, it’s a testament for the "little guy."

Things Go Wrong For Me… details Rodney’s unfortunate mishaps in life. From his childhood, through marriage, divorce, dating and a vasectomy. Described in pictures and words this is a humour book with a difference.

Things Go Wrong For Me… is an amalgamation of Rodney’s blog posts put into book form and I expect his long-term readers will be familiar with most or all of them. This book is pretty funny, very clearly Rodney does not take himself seriously. At all. He has an engaging voice and describ...more
I started following @Moooooog35 on Twitter a few months ago because someone re-tweeted something he said and he seemed funny. I like to follow random funny people. I hope some of their wit will rub off on me. Because I only pretend to be funny.

So Rodney (That’s his real name. I didn’t know he had a real name.) wrote a book called Things Go Wrong For Me and I decided to give it a read. It was on sale for $2.99, so what did I have to lose? Besides almost $3. And the time it took me to read it.

AMAZING BOOK ... and I'm not just saying that because I edited it. There's a reason I was involved with this book, because Rodney is one of the funniest people I know. If his book was a person, it would be the second funniest person I know.

This is a must-read if there ever was one. There's something for everyone: from how to shave your pubes (read: manscape) to how *not* to ride a toboggan.

If you get nothing out of this book, at least get this: ball smoke.

This book is an extension of Rodney's hilarious blog, so if you've read and enjoyed his blog you will definitely love this book. It's amazing how you can laugh so hard at the stories of a fat kid inadvertently trying to kill himself on multiple occasions and at a grown man shaving his balls. I read this in half a day because I couldn't put it down and because PICTURES! So it's perfect for people with short attention spans AND people who like to laugh. I think that's pretty much everyone in this...more
This book is hysterical... a laugh-out-loud book. I carried it around for a few days and was caught several times laughing in public. I also annoyed several friends reading things out loud and showing them pictures. Nothing is better than a good laugh, and you will get many reading this.

Great read! Super funny and honest. I have a full review coming and will add that link after it's published.

Sometimes you just need a good laugh-out-loud book to read. While cruising around the blog-o-sphere, I came across the blog Mental Poo. Yes, you read that correctly. A blog that is described as "Jerking off your funny bone, one post at a time." While laughing and trying not to pee my pants at the blog posts, I came across a link in the right hand sidebar to purchase the book. I laughed so hard with this book.

Oh my gosh.
This book had me laughing from the beginning! I have to admit, I was all, "Is it gonna be THAT good? Am I gonna have to LIE because I sort of know Rodney?" (what. reading his blog and friending him on facebook totally counts as deep friendship.)
Thankfully, I did NOT have to lie! This book was hilarious! I think? When he was a kid, he was the boy version of me. Only I never shit my pants and had to ride my bike home in it. I believe I walked.

Rodney truly has a talent for storytelling. Usually with a lot of sophomoric and self-deprecating humor that is guaranteed to leave you smiling, smirking, laughing, or at the very least, rolling your eyes in an attempt to convince yourself that your sense of humor is simply too sophisticated to be laughing at the mental image of a fat kid on a bike crapping his pants because he mistook Ex-Lax for chocolate.

If you're not easily offended or you don't worry about being politically correct; if you l...more
This book does need to come with a warning...

Do not take this book out to read at lunchtime in public or read it on public transport as people will look you like you are the crazy cat lady from the Simpsons - yes it does make you laugh out loud and shake your head in "amazement", good amazement or bad amazement I am still trying to figure that out.

From Fat Kid to renowned blog author, Rodney Lacroix shows people a side of his life that really couldn't belong to anyone but him. Join him on a jour...more

Things Go Wrong For Me is a very funny book. I actually found myself laughing out loud in parts and there are very few books that have caused that to happen. My favorite line had to do with who the Easter bunny is, but I don't want to give it away here. I read the book over the course of one day. I couldn't put it down. It's not for everyone. And it's definitely not for children. If you are an adult with an offbeat sense of humor, then I think you would enjoy this book.

I tried my best and continued to read on hoping to find some redemeening qualities in this book. I never did. The reviews sounded good and I was looking forward to a fun read. However, all I could think was how selfish & unappreciative this man was for all he's been given and what an ass he is to brag about kids being terrible (including his own) and how his favorite thing in life is to lie to them & hopes his son gets a "hot" therapist later in life when he needs one. He's simply a jerk...more
To the joy of Rodney Lacroix's readers and friends, and undoubtly, the consternation of some of his acquaintaces, Rodney is the little boy who never grew up.
For those who don't enjoy reading, the essence of "Things Go Wrong For Me" is clearly illustrated.
Language a bit much but -- Thanks for the trip, Rodney.
Lately I have ADD when it comes to reading, but I read this one in a day. Anytime you can get a good laugh out of a book, I am all for it. The fun ride through Rodney's childhood was my favorite.
This is probably the funniest book I've read since 'Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang'. His Draw Something illustrations alone are worth reading the book!
This is the funniest book I have ever read. I laughed out loud on almost every page. If you aren't easily offended, pick up a copy!
very funny book. I got it for free on kindle and thoroughly enjoyed it! can't wait for more. quick, funny read.
Laugh out loud funny... Only gave it 4 stars because it was over too fast... Story of the Authors life!
Wicked funny! A must read for poop, porno, and parenting.

Absolutely hilarious! Rodney is a comedic genius.

I didn't know what to expect.
I stumbled across the fact that Rodney had a book coming out a while ago, and popped it onto my Kindle for iPad once it was released. One night, I tucked myself into bed and decided to give his book a go before falling asleep.
From the start, I was laughing so hard the iPad kept bouncing up and down. I was actually laughing out loud. His drawings, his dating profile, his and fantastic.

There's no denying Rodney is a funny guy - his stories about growing up as a fat kid and the various way he mentally tortured both his parents and kids (equal opportunity pest) were hilarious and punctuated with crudely drawn, but snorty-laugh drawn (that's a term, look it up) pictures that made the book fly by too fast!

On her podcast, Aisha Tyler has all of her guests tell a story of a self-inflicted wound. Quite often, Self-Inflicted Wounds is the funniest part of the cast, with stories of terrible awful things that people have done to themselves. (hint: Jon Benjamin's was the funniest)

Rodney Lacroix's life is one big self-inflicted wound. These stories are all detailed on his blog (Midget Man of Steel), but I suck at keeping up with blogs, only managing to check in occasionally. It was nice to sit and read a...more
Rodney, better known to his blog devotees as Moooooog35, truly marches to the beat of a different drum. He's like a cross between Don Rickles and Andrew Dice Clay with a little George Carlin thrown in for goo measure. Oops that was a typo. I meant to say "good". But it's also kinda Freudian and you'll find out why in the hilarious vasectomy section of the book.

I obtained this book for free during a Kindle promotion and let me say it was worth every penny! Just kidding, I actually would have spen...more
