While Maia severely pissed me off - Mel is sometimes hard enough to take, let alone dealing also with a dark 'clone' of her - I *loved* the story of Khamsin and Amisi! If there was a book about only them I would read it, they're fascinating characters with such a terrific story. Lovely surprise!

Not one of my favourites. Quite liked the portrayal of Cleopatra as being devoted to her Egypt, but I would prefer Lola, Reuben and Brice to Maia any day :)
