This is a "did not finish" for me. I got to 68% and couldn't take the awkward and cheesy dialogue anymore. Riley was completely unlikable to me and Alpha was like a cardboard character with no personality. I'm not going to rate this.
When I see a Brenda Jackson book I get it and when it is the continuation of that Westmoreland clan I especially get excited and anxious to read another episode in this family saga. Riley, like many of the guys in this family, is not anxious to marry. In fact, the experiences of his younger brother have marked him in a very negative way. He now goes by Riley's Rules--no continuous dating/affair is to last more than six weeks. This will most certainly spare and protect his heart. Good plan, but i ...more
Another great book by Brenda Jackson. I love the Westmoreland family and the more your read about them, the more you CRAVE~!!.. Riley Westmoreland and Alpha Blake are two individuals who have immediate chemistry from their first meeting. The interactions between these two are what romance stories are made from and prove that love at first sight does exist even if the two parties don't know it yet. Brenda Jackson has done it again with a passionate, page burning story. PICK UP YOUR COPY TODAY 5++ ...more
Very good book. Both Riley and Alpha are people who know what they want and have no problem going after it. Alpha moved to Denver from Florida after ending her engagement. When she is hired to be the event planner for a Westmoreland party, she is immediately attracted to Riley, but has no plans to risk her heart again. Riley has kept his emotions out of his affairs for a long time, after seeing what the loss of love did to one of his brothers. He has what he calls "Riley's Rules". He will date a ...more
If any of the Westmoreland Men could be my dream man it would be Riley. He is sweet, thoughtful, caring, smart and Outright SEXY! The minute Riley offered to pick Alpha for the meeting because her car broke down I was a goner. And then he picked her up put on the Westmoreland charm, what woman can resist?

Alpha is the Florida girl (yay) who leaves home after a broken relationship and of all places moves to Denver. Now seeing as how I'm a florida girl through and through I just don't see me ever d
I loved this story!!! I was taken by the charm, sexiness and boldness of the Riley Westmoreland. The man knew what we wanted and went for it, no beating around the bush for this modern hunk. It gives me chills just think about him. I was completely taken into to the story from the beginning. As the story progresses so did my desire for the main character - Riley. I love all of the Westmoreland Men, but Riley, Storm and Ian are my favorite characters. Oh, I forgot to mention there is a great fema ...more
I received this book as an e-arc from Netgalley for my honest review. I have never read any of the Westmoreland series but I am glad that I read this and plan to definitely read the others now. This book has everything you could love about a romance book. Hot steamy scenes, Sexy male, strong female etc. I started out wanting to not like Riley but throughout the book you just grow to love him and his whole family. I can’t wait to see how the other books turn out to be.

3.5 stars

This was a solid read from Brenda Jackson. The story has a nice flow, and kept me interested. There was great chemistry between Riley and Alpha. Their love scenes were super spicy and extremely passionate, some were border line erotic which was nice. I liked how this book was mostly about them. Yes we got snippets of the other Westmorelands, but this book primarily concentrated on Riley and Alpha which is a welcomed change. If you are a fan if this series I think you would enjoy this on
Brenda Jackson at her best! This is only the second Westmoreland title that I have read. I have enjoyed the strong family values that are emphasized in each book. And of course I love the truth that love covers a multitude of sin highlighted in the series!!!! Kudos to the Sister Jackson!!!!

What is a girl supposed to do when she trying to plan a major event, but cannot keep her mind on work because of a sexy Westmoreland man. That what happen to Event Planner Alpha Blake, hired to organize for a big event for the Westmorland family and then her & Riley Westmoreland have a passionate night that neither one can forget.
The Westmoreland novels are a great quick read for your entertainment pleasure. Like all of Mrs. Jackson Westmorland series you get to revisit a few characters fro

The Westmorelands is a lengthy series that illustrates the lives and lifestyles of the large Westmoreland Clan. Each book is complete in itself yet ties to the next book in the series. This is no "read one - read them all" series and in One Winter's Night, Riley Westmoreland throws down the gauntlet to show the uniqueness of The Westmorelands. This is book #24 and if you think it can't get better, Riley and Alpha demonstrates that it can get better and with their story, it d
As far as I'm concerned these Westmoreland books can go on into perpetuity, that's how much I love them. I even spent a weekend recently re-reading some of the older stories. That's a big deal because I have way too many books on my to-be-read list to go back and read something twice. One Winter's Night is a great addition to the series.

Riley Westmoreland is part of the Denver branch of the family and one of the last one's to settle down. The company he owns with his brother Dillon, Blue Ridge L

Ok this is the Brenda Jackson that I have come to love- One Winters Night was full of everything we have come to expect from her. Alpha has moved to Denver to get away from her family and her ex-boyfriend who all wanted to control her in one form or fashion. Her parents who had been humiliated by her sister were a little overbearing and judgmental but they meant well. Her ex-boyfriend's family wanted her to distance herself from her sister, in which Alpha refused to do.
Riley is in charge of the
Riley is one of the Denver Westmorelands and he never mixes business
with pleasure until he meets Alpha. Alpha is dealing with some issues
from a previous relationship that she rather not deal with. She doesn’t want a relationship.
Riley realizes that one night will never be enough and vows to win her heart for good and show her that true love conquers all.
A good cup of tea, a warm fire, and One Winters Night make for a cozy evening. Alpha Black and Riley Westmoreland did just that. They each had a set of rules on dating, but soon learn rules don't control the heart
More a 3.5 than a 3. Goodreads really needs to consider 1/2 star ratings.
I actually liked this one better than the few previous Westmoreland books I've read. Her writing seemed...more something. Can't put my finger on it, reinvigorated maybe. There are still some style issues that I'm not a fan of, but that's personal taste. The characters were more real and modern to me, especially Alpha (although I loathe that name; Omega too.), b/c I was really getting tired of the virginal perfect ladies the
One Winter's Night is a good book to cuddle up with during a cold winter's night. Riley Westmoreland is the next Westmoreland to step into the land of finding true love. Riley has to meet with the party planner Alpha Blake to ensure his parent's company holiday party is a success. During the planning Riley is hit with a blast of attractiveness for Ms. Blake and with determination pursues her and is very straight forward with his wants. Riley does not date a woman past 6 weeks and will his infatu ...more

A may have been a winter's night but it was a hot read.

One Winters Night
I really enjoyed this book. It sucks you right in from the moment Alpha and Riley meet. Their chemistry was sizzling! There is a strong sense of family in the Westmoreland books and this book is no different.I was very surprised about how Alpha's family fit into the story. This book reconfirmed my love for all things Westmoreland. I love the teases for upcoming books that leave you wanting more. It was a pleasure, as always, to catch up with the Westmoreland family. Riley and Alpha, I loved it would love to see a prequel. I never caught on to Alpha and Omega. Ms. Jackson has "it" when it comes to writing romance and I will never put it down.

Sizzling romance by Brenda Jackson. Even though it has the same style like other Harlequin novels, I liked it. It entertained me the whole time. I liked that the action started in the beggining of the book, so that didn't leave time for boredom. Riley and Alpha were well crafted characters and the style writing was very good.
I think every romance reader and every Brenda Jackson fan will love this book.
I look forward to reading the other novels in the Westmoreland series.
Steamy. Loved the story. Brenda Jackson is an excellent writer. I am also a fan of connecting stories such as this, It was one if the better Christmas stories I've read this season. I also liked the fact that although wealthy, the characters have strong family connections and are not battling each other for money and control. The female leads are ambitious bright women who happen to be beautiful. Everyone works or is in school. Love the values.
Oh what a night it was when Alpha found that Riley Westmoreland was nothing like LeBron or her ex-fiancé. Even though he was considered a playa, when he met her he was so taken that he decided to turn in his exclusive card and disregard his own "Riley's Rules" seeming that he wanted to be with her for life instead of for his six weeks only affair! What a Westmoreland man for ya...going after who and what he wants.
Alpha and Riley try hard to fight the attraction between them, but it isn't working. They are working closely together to plan the Company's Christmas/40th anniversary party. Brenda Jackson books are magical, making you wish for that same intensity, heat and sexual attraction.
Another good read....Rileys and Alpha's story was another good one....Riley was a man who thought he only wanted affairs and not matters of the heart until Alpha that is.....Alpha and Riley both had some trust issues to get pass and Riley had to find away to let Alpha know he wanted more than sex without commitment....Can't wait to see who's next maybe Zane....let's hope.....

Another fantastic read from Brenda Jackson. How can you not like the Westmoreland Family. One Winter's Night features Riley Westmoreland who instantly falls for Alpha Blake. I loved that Riley taught Alpha the true meaning of "family." Looking forward to reading Zane, Stern and Canyon's stories. A must purchase.
Great read! I absolutely loved Riley and Alpha's story. This book was really refreshing since I wasn't all that impressed with Texas Wild. The book kept my interest, I enjoyed the story line and I loved all of the hot and steamy love scenes. I would definitely recommend to BJ fans.
It was okay. it was a basic light read. There were partsof it, i found vwey predictable. I really liked Alpha, thought she was agirl with huts and class. The hypocisy of her parents were amazing. I really liked Riley, but found the wetmoreland women fascinanting.
