Sadly few full-length books have been written on the late Evan Mecham, his political career, and his governorship of Arizona. I can say with near-certainty that this is the best one available. The author, a retired Arizona judge, is clearly a Mecham opponent, but is not utterly unfair or unreasonable like too many of the existing books on Mecham.
The huge weakness of this book is not the bias, but the fact that much of it is unsourced. The quotations are attributed, but the statements generally a

Good book with only a few issues. Covered the sixteen month disaster that was the Mecham Administration and gave a nice little prologue into "Ev" before his political years. Once in a while, maybe every few chapters, there is a sentence or two that don't quite seem right. I felt like the amount of comma's could have been increased to make it a bit more readable. But most of it was fine, only rarely was a sentence incomprehensible.
