The long running series Mammoth Books of Best British Crime is a great way to discover writers you've never come across before. This huge omnibus collects together three volumes 7,8 and 9 featuring well known authors such as Colin Dexter, Val McDermid, Sophie Hannah, Ian Rankin and Alexander McCall Smith but it's the surprise and delight at finding new authors that really makes these collections invaluable.
