This is the first book that I have read from Kate Sherwood and it definitely will not be the last. Shadow Valley was another book that captured my attention from the beginning and wouldn't let go. I was entertained through out the book and I didn't want to put it down.

Shadow Valley was a short easy read with laughter, romance, HOT sex and a great hero and heroine. I loved Joe and Megan. Joe *sigh* He was everything that I want in my heroes. He was protective, loyal, caring, sweet, loving, strong...more
I haven't read anything from this author before...but I really like it!

I am not sure if I have ever stated my opinion about women that poach on other women...but I was prepared not to like Megan. Thankfully, the "affair" was over three years earlier and the man in question was separated from his wife. The only problem was that it was uncovered years after it was over and he re-united with his wife. So...Megan is sent to review the inter-departmental issues between FBI, DEA, Customs and the local...more
Megan Archer is having a very bad year. Her career is in tatters, her affair 3 years ago with the governor was now just very publically outted and his office has shipped her off to Shadow Valley, Montana to help with a stalled meth investigation. There have been issues with the locals, police and DEA.

On her way to Shadow Valley, Megan looses control of her car and ends up in a water filled ditch. She is quickly rescued by a very attractive Joe Cody. The next day she discovers that Joe Cody and f...more

My Review:
This book did not play out the way that I thought it would when I read the premise. It reads like a mild romantic suspense story, but I will admit it kept me guessing. The logical places to ramp up the suspense were ignored and there were times were it read like a typical small town romance. It definitely had a feel that was different, but that doesn't mean it was bad. In fact, it kept it pretty interesting.

Megan has come to this small town in Montana to investigate a lot of different...more

We find that Megan had recently be caught up in a affair with the governor of Montana and has be sent to "Shadow Valley." In this town there seems to have a 'marijuana problem.' On her way to "Shadow Valley," due to a car acci...more
Poor Megan Archer. She succumbed to weakness and had an affair with the governor of Montana, but the word got out. So now she's been exiled to Shadow Valley, under the auspices of investigating why the town seems to turn a blind eye to its growing marijuana problem.

Lucky Megan Archer. When her car slips on ice and caroms down an embankment, she is submerged in the water, headed for certain death. Thanks to the incredibly hot and luscious Joe Cody, however, she is rescued.

Sort of.

Megan quickly re...more

Thanks to the publisher, Carina Press, and NetGalley for the chance to read this early!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I wasn’t disappointed. Although, its slow start, this story has a lot to offer and I'm glad I hung in there. It all makes sense after awhile and I was constantly off balance, trying to deduce the good guys from the bad ones. The romance between Megan and Joe was pretty intense. The characters were carefully created with intricate personality traits and charac...more
