Unmemorable play from 1985.

The author of The Dragon's Tail, Douglas Watkinson, is mainly known for his crime novels featuring the hard-bitten, ex-police officer turned private detective "Nathan Hawke". Douglas Watkinson is a longstanding script writer of screenplays for television, having written hundreds of episodes, mainly for crime and mystery series. I’ve been writing for television all my life, everything from Z Cars, through Juliet Bravo, Boon, Lovejoy, The Bill, Poirot - right up to Midsomer Murders, which I helped to establish. You can see a catalogue of my television and stage work on my website.

I also write crime novels featuring a high ranking police officer Nathan Hawk, who was 'required to retire' as we English so delicately phrase it
