Eugene de Beauharnais was Napoleon's stepson by Josephine. The viceroy of the Kingdom of Italy, Eugene was the only one of Napoleon's top commanders to receive any type of formal instruction from l'Empereur. This book deals with how Eugene utilized that training during the 1809 campaign vs. Austria. Good military history, decent maps and orders of battle. There is not a ton of material out there for the Kingdom of Italy during the Napoleonic period.
