Nice little introduction for the budding herpetologist, but I could have used more.

Crested gecko fun facts:

- Assumed extinct until 1994 when a specimen was discovered in New Calcedonia; have flourished in captivity ever since

- Most polychromatic of all lizards

- Ape child vs monkey child- many lose their tail out of defense once threatened, unlike most other geckos- they never regenerate a new one. It appears normal for most non-captive wild crested geckos to be tailless.
