'Wrong Bed, Right Guy' by Katee Robert was an "OK" read. This story was a good effort, but it didn't cut it for me. The beginning started off promising and then the story fell flat & never picked up. To be honest, out of the whole book, I probably enjoyed only the first chapter due to the "accidental meeting."

I have two words for this book. Holy hotness! The new Brazen line from Entangled Publishing has knocked it out of the park with this one. This was so on its way to a 5-star, but unfortunately the big conflict wasn't that big and wasn't all that conflict-y. The heroine's relationship inexperience causes the conflict IMO.

Incidentally, one of the best parts of the book is the Coming Soon section on the last few pages. I'm excited for all of the books listed!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next 2 in the series!

One of my first romances ever was Kathleen O'Brien’s ‘Bargain with the Wind’. That was a story of a young woman who ~~wanted~~ was forced by circumstances to marry one guy but ended up with his big brother. I read that book, don’t know, maybe 13 years ago but I remember it clearly. This story, ‘Wrong Bed, Right Guy’, did for me exactly the same thing in spite of my first thought, “She wanted to bang her boss! That’s disgusting! Who would write a book about that?!” AJ told me, “It’s not like that!”. And you know what? AJ was right – it’s not like that. That ‘banging’ idea is seamless in the book, it doesn’t feel amoral or unworthy; it’s quite understandable, actually.

Basically, the story is ‘Lady and the Tramp’. Funny thing, couple of days ago I was discussing this cartoon with one of my girlfriends and I said that I didn’t understand Tramp’s appeal. Why everyone thinks that story is so romanric? Hahaha, now I know the reason! So, our hero, Gabe, is a tramp… errrr… very attractive ‘tramp’. Okay, he thinks he is a ‘tramp’ and I don’t get why: 1) he’s handsome 2) he’s funny 3) he’s smart 4) he’s PP (protective and possessive) 5) he’s rich as Croesus 6) he’s businessman and owns several nightclubs 7) he has a tattoo salon where he works when he pleases 8) he has a lot of tattoo on his body 9) he drives a Camaro! Seriously, dude, what’s wrong with you? What else do you want?! You’ re not a ‘tramp’, you’re a yogurt powdered with chocolate chips and a cherry on top of it! I looooooved Gabe. What the heck – I want Gabe in my life. Do you know some ‘gabes’ available? ;)

Elle gets on everyone’s nerves but I must confess I often behave myself alike so I do understand her (I’m not talking about climb-to-my-boss-bed thing here LOL). So, Elle had had a crappy boyfriend and she decided that she had a bad taste for the men + she had a very annoying mother who tried to fix her personal life arranging the dates with the guys Elle hated, so Elle thought that she must take her life into her own hands and make ‘the move’ on her boos. He was a decent guy and she liked him a lot. You may say that clumbing to the boss’ bed was one hell of a ‘move’ but you know sometimes it happens exactly that way – you want something, you crave it but you hesitate and then you find yourself on the verge of shattering so you make some crazy, bizzare ‘move’ in desperate attempt to change something. It’s ‘now-or-never’ sort of decision. So, she climbs to her boss’ bed but founds there his big brother and… oops… they fall for each other. She thinks he’s a ‘tramp’, a bad boy so she souldn’t get involved with him. He thinks she’s a ‘lady’, a haughty chick who’ll bring him only troubles but he wants her so he decides to win her. The book is about him winning her. What I liked the most? His determination to get her, at all costs. It was sexy as hell. Oh, one more thing. There was that scene on a beach, when they almost had sex – I couldn’t put it out of my head today! I was sitting at my desk in the office and I was remembering it… like… all day long *blushing*

This scenario had me cracking up in the first few pages. The opening scene is cringe-worthy for sure, but haven’t you ever thought of doing something daring like that? I loved both of these characters but Gabe was the star of the show to me. He was so sweet and caring, quite the opposite of what Elle thought he was just going by his looks. She can’t help but be won over, along with the rest of us! Elle's prejudice of Gabe was a little annoying at times, but I could understand not wanting to be hurt again. Plus, you have to love the girl's taste in reading material! Everyone loves a good bodice ripper! There was very little frustrating drama in this story which made it so fun to read, and there was a good amount of spice that had me fanning myself more than a few times!

This is a relatively short story, only 144 pages but it felt like just the right amount of romance, sizzle and humor. Another great pick from Smut Monday Club!

First of all, I gotta say this book was just hilarious. Especially at the beginning. You see, Elle the main character planned to wear some lingerie and climb into her boss's bed. Except the guy sleeping on the bed was the boss's brother. Basically she almost did it with the wrong (not to mention total stranger) guy. I don't know why but I couldn't help giggling at that scene. I would have been MORTIFIED. And so embarrassed I would never show my face again. Not that I would seduce a guy when I'm this young. But still.

Gabe was the ultimate bad boy. A very sexy bad boy. And you guys know how much I love them, right? Yep. So obviously I loved Gabe. I also adored the female lead, Elle. Even though Katee Roberts created characters that are somewhat cliche (bad broken boy + good proper girl) she made up for it by adding very realistic flaws and quirks. There were times where I wanted to slap some of them (not telling who), but I still found myself rooting for them the whole way through.

I couldn't really say anything bad about the writing. It was just spectacular. Even though this was a short book, it still showed her writing talent and how she can make us the readers care so deeply about the characters. I loved each and every one of the characters.Also the pacing was brilliant; this story flowed exceptionally well.

And I gotta say. She knows how to write a good ole sexy scene. Seriously. Whoa. They were steamy and omg hot hot hot. I was giggling and blushing like an idiot. He he. Can I say they were my favourite scenes out of the whole book? ;)

So if you love short adult contemporary romance, you should be reading WRONG BED, RIGHT GUY right now. Seriously, you do NOT want to miss this. (less)

The deeper analysis:
I really had fun reading the mistaken bed premise and the opening is a very strong read. The hero, Gabe, with his bad boy tats and a Camero is not my appeal at all, but he was still written in such a way that I wasn't getting hung up on the fact. The heroine, Elle, was quite well written; she was easy to follow and step into, and I was never annoyed with her. The plot was okay, it didn't feel like it went very deep, and I always long for much more character growth in my protagonists, but both Gabe and Elle come to confront some very well made inner-conflicts, successfully. Timelines are always a thing with me, and two weeks, two months? Sure, my life can be turned on its head in that amount of time, but I'm not sure I'd have the clarity or introspection to know I liked it that much. But I think that is the hard reader in me?
Erotica portions were again, solid. I was there, I wasn't rolling my eyes, but then they also didn't really hit the hotness on my scale and have me going after my husband. The emotion behind them was good but the scenes felt short; they could have been longer to convey even more emotion and greater hotness. The only pet peeve that nudged me was reading that our bad boy hero was holding himself back when they were in bed together (or -spoilers!- in a storage closet -_^ ). I'm okay with the sentiment, I understand that, but I often times find myself wishing it was shown to me more than told.
Overall, the craft is there, the general pacing and development is as expected. But it didn't succeed to gain that fifth star because it didn't reach page-turner status. It has sections where the drama or the micro-tension was good- you couldn't stop. However, there were breaks in it, letting me put it down for awhile, or go to bed. The most important fact though, is that I came back. I still essentially read the book in less than a day.

So my overly analytical brain aside (something I have in common with Elle!), this is one to pluck off the shelves, digital or real. (less)

She has sort of a tight relationship with her parents, especially with her mom; she loves her departed in Japan brother (Ian) that works in the army; and, most important, she hates her love-past-life! She used to date this super-hot guy back in college, Jason, who totally broke her heart, stole her virginity and run away smiling and bagging some new sluts that just arrived in town.
She felt broken, she felt betrayed and she never trusted anyone since then! But she totally got it for her boss, because he is nice, good-looking, house-man, never bad, never anything! He is the perfect man for her, and for her mom – who must approve of him. But Nathan is her boss, so she cannot just drop by his office and say: “Hi, can we go on a date?” No. Of course she cannot do that, she just has to do something totally radical like buying expensive lingerie and go to the man’s house to have some wild sex with him!!
Exactly! She just dresses up and goes for it! She is within minutes in his house, his bedroom and eventually his bed. The only problem might consist on the fact that in the bed is actually the wrong man! She kind of let the mysterious man to make her go on the ninth cloud, but she figures his strange voice out and realise that he is not Nathan!
From here on is all about this stranger who made her to feel all those things in just a few minutes. It is all about Gabe, Nathan’s brother.
Gabe is so not his brother. He has tattoos, a Camaro – a red Camaro, and he also reeks of bad-boy attitude, just like Jason! Of course she is getting scared, she cannot even think about being out with him for a date when he just comes to his brother’s gallery and asks her out! Yet, somehow love finds her way!
I recommend this book to everyone in need of a good love story, in need of something funny and passionate to think about later on. I hope you all get this book to be dear to you, just as it become to me!

A lighthearted, slightly steamy romance about a "good" girl and a "bad" boy. What starts out as a case of mistaken identity turns into a battle of wills when good girl Elle accidentley ends up in Gabe Schultz's bed while attempting to seduce his brother, Nathan. Gabe's intrigued and sets out to get to know Elle better. Elle, a reformed bad boy lover, doesn't want anything to do with him, but his perseverance wears her down and soon she finds herself rethinking her whole attitude.

This was a fun little story. I was originally a little nervous about reading it since it sounded like the heroine’s affections were previously engaged before she ended up in the wrong (or right) guy’s bed. I wasn’t sure that the author could successfully show the heroine, Elle, changing her mind and falling for another guy so soon after trying to seduce her boss. This was a fun little story. I was originally a little nervous about reading it since it sounded like the heroine’s affections were previously engaged before she ended up in the wrong (or right) guy’s bed. I wasn’t sure that the author could successfully show the heroine, Elle, changing her mind and falling for another guy so soon after trying to seduce her boss. Luckily, her reasons for trying to seduce her boss were not quite what I assumed they would be.

Elle is sick and tired of her overbearing mother’s matchmaking attempts. She knows that her own taste in men sucks (she likes the bad boys), but she just can’t stand any of the men her mom shoves her way. Her boss is far from a bad boy, and she actually likes him, so she sets her sites on him. Sure, they don’t have much spark between them, but he’s a nice guy and they have a lot in common. After he fails to pick up on the many ‘come and get me’ hints she sends his way, she gets a wild hair and decides to show up in the middle of the night and seduce him—despite her best friend’s warning about what a bad idea it is.

Unfortunately for Elle, the hero, Gabe, ends up being the man she crawls in bed with, not her boss, Nathan. Gabe, Nathan’s brother, is back in town and crashing at Nathan’s place. Elle sneaks into bed with him while he’s asleep and it takes some time for her to figure out he’s not the right man. She’s horrified to find that not only did she get the wrong guy, he’s exactly the type of guy she’s sworn off. With his tattoos, muscles, and long hair he has bad boy written all over him. She bolts and has to spend the rest of the weekend wondering whether or not Nathan will find out.

I liked that the author had Elle be freaked out by getting so intimate with a stranger. I found the whole setup a little on the skeezy side, though funny, so it was nice that both of the characters felt awkward about it afterward. Gabe was a little more on the gray side with it than Elle was, given that he was aware that some stranger turned up in his bed, but he’s been trying to turn over a new leaf and leave behind his casual sex ways, so I’ll take what I can get.

I found Elle a little too snobby for my tastes, which I both liked and disliked. Her nose in the air attitude rubbed me wrong but I like when authors use less than perfect characters, so that was a plus. Gabe was more enjoyable across the board, but I could have used a little more oomph to make his character stand out. I liked that although he had some issues from his past, he had come to terms with them by the time we meet him in the book. He felt like the steady one in the relationship.

The story is light and fun with just the right amount of heat. The story ends with a HFN instead of a HEA which makes it all more believable given the short time length they know each other. Elle tends to jump to conclusions and I occasionally wondered why Gabe was so stuck on her given her snobbery, but I enjoyed them together regardless. They were an unlikely pair on the surface but the book showed that appearances aren’t a reliable judge of a person’s worth.

If you’re looking for something quick and fun, check this one out.

Never judge a book by the cover! that should be the name of this book..
we all make assumptions on how people look... that create expectations. which is unfair.. although quite often makes sense.

finally I read about a female character that sticks to what she believes! she thinks he is trouble.. and does her best to keep him away... and takes her some to give up and admit she likes him. I liked that! at least it is showing some personality and fire!
