Of all the "Second Life" books, this was the best guide - mainly because it included mini lessons from such people as Julia Hathor of Creative Fantasy.
Second Life can be overwhelming at first. This is the book I chose to help me get started. No book can tell you all of Second Life, but without one you will be lost.
