I have a really hard time giving this book a rating that fits because I don't know what to do with it. The parts of it that worked for me REALLY worked for me- best friends to lovers is still my absolute favorite trope, obviously, and Ivy and Ian were amazing -- for the most part. There was so much that bothered me about the way their story was written. JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER!!!!!! There was so much unnecessary drama in this, especially towards the end, that really took away from my enjoyment o ...more

Ok Peeps, listen up!! I don't know if you are on the New Adult trend or not, but it has been something that has been lacking in the literary world for a looooong time. Nadia and I have recently been astonished at the amount of new books being released in this new genre. Some bad, some worse, and then something comes along and you're like whoa, wait a tic, did I just stumble upon some talent? In this books case my friends, I just did.

Now, I certainly don't want to hype it too much because as any

2.5 Stars Soo bummed because I really wanted to like this one …

Ivy and Ian have been best friends since they were little, and are the stars of a late night radio show ‘The truth about dating and mating’, as the self-proclaimed experts in all things sex. Ian ‘cockblocks’ any male attention Ivy gets while whoring around the campus as being the “go-to” guy for a good time. Their friendship is almost couple-ish without the sex. A few awkward moments make them start to think of the bad things they ca

4.5 stars.

Light, sweet and sexy comfort read. Some humor. The main characters brim with personality, their conversations are lively and fun, and their friends are quite likable as well. The element of the sex talk radio show is relatively unique and quite interesting. I also liked the mention of the prejudice against a woman who gives sexual advice, versus the reverence for a man who does so, although this issue isn't explored very deeply.

The sexual tension leading up to their switch from frien

Okay, so I have to admit, I initially judged this book based on it's cover and title... I hadn't even allowed myself to read the summary due to the fact that every time I saw the cover I thought that this novel was targeted for middle school aged girls. It wasn't until after I finally convinced myself to read the summary that I realized that this book was the exact opposite of what I had assumed. You know what they say about assuming...

I actually loved this book!!! It's about two childhood frie

You know how with some books, once you start, you can't put it down until you're finished? This was an up-til-4AM read for me. Ivy is one of the more real heroines that I've read about in a while. Her situation is real, her dilemmas are believable, and her reactions (while thoroughly frustrating) are true to a 21 year old college student. I just loved the book and will definitely keep an eye out for future books by this new author!

OK, so the last time that I saw a quote in a book that struck me, I did not write it down and then could not find which book it was from. So with that, I am going to quote the author, Jaycee DeLorenzo here. It was a conversation between Ivy (main character) and Chelsea (her roomate). " Look, I'm not trying to upset you, but, lately, you have this really bad habit of going for the jugular the micro-second someone says anything you don't like. You're so focused on winning every battle that you don ...more

I read this book almost a year ago. Now every time I come across the cover I think "wow that one was really good." This book stuck with me. I can't say it was perfect, the most romantic, the best book boyfriend, but it just had that something. I can't explain it. You will just have to read it to understand.

I cannot believe how much I LOVED this book. I bought it based on Amazon's recommendation and couldn't put it down! Ivy and Ian were the most perfect characters and even the supporting characters were fabulous! I know I'm gushing but this book is probably at the top of my Favorite Books list!

Simply adorable.
This book could not get any cuter, and thankfully not in that "makes me want to puke my guts" way. Both of the main characters have obvious flaws but that's what makes them so endearing. I personally hate it when someone is implied to be perfect. Two best friends who fall in love but aren't sure whether it's worth the risk. Filled with uncertainty, witty banter and more mistakes than two people should be able to make, you can't help but fall in love with Ivy and Ian.

Ian is a funny character and is protective when it comes to Ivy, "well, I can't remember the exact words, but I may have mentioned it wasn't illegal to dig a hole in the desert, and I had one dug out for anyone who mistreated you." Ivy is a saucy lil' thing that makes me laugh, "ooh, cheap beer, packed bodies, and more drugs than a Tijuana pharmacy. Where do I sign up?" Ivy is getting the point in her relationship with Ian of where she gets jealous or she was just mad and let him have it either

I will probably have to rate this three stars out of guilty pleasure, purely. I mean, I probably wouldn't have liked it as much, but I always think that the "best friend-turned couple" thing is a lot better than the insta-love, so I jumped right into it. I think that the author wrote the story really well, and although it would probably be a typical story - boy and girl notice feelings for each other, make it work, boy does something stupid, make up, the end - but some parts were pretty nice to ...more
When two best friends love each other and all of a sudden thay find themshelves attracted to one another, are they strong enough to express their feelings or are they going to lose what they value most??
A really nice book about people who learn about love for the first time..Nice and funny story..
Immature decisions, jumping to the wrong conclusions and making some emotionally stupid mistakes.

These are just some of the ways to describe the actions of the main characters of this book. But damn...Fvck me of I did not thoroughly enjoy this little gem of a book.

Solid 3.5 stars for me. I enjoyed it. She did a great job of pulling me in with the characters. I love when a book makes me feel something. I laughed, I cried, I even felt sick to my stomach. . I couldn't put it down.

This was a cute read. I love the radio show that Ian and Ivy had together. But I have to say Ian was driving me nuts with his player ways, while having deep feelings for Ivy. I kept thinking, come on Ian just tell her already! Fingers crossed that Jayden will get his own book. ;)

DNF'd at 15%, start of Chapter 4

There isn't necessarily anything bad with this book, I think it's just that there isn't anything new with this book. It comes across as generic and cliche (which the BFF to lovers trope often is) and I just couldn't get into it.

Ivy and Ian are your typical BFFs who have that sexual tension lying underneath their relationship but are too oblivious to clue in. I do enjoy their banter but Ian's alpha attitude and double standards were a little too much for me.

Whoever said one should never judge a book by its cover is damn right! I must admit that when I first saw the cover to this book, I said "Hell naw! Pass!" Not that there is anything wrong, but the cover reminded me of the 90s. (Full House-ish?) So I assumed the story was going to be super cheesy and bad.

Oh boy, was I wrong!

It took me less than 24 hours to finish this novel. Approximately six hours to be precise. What I thought was going to be one of the worst books on my iPad actually turned o
Rating this one 3.5 stars. Really wishing GR would allow you to do half-measures but I digress.
The lowdown: Ivy and Ian have been best friends since they were tadpoles. The bond between them has been forged through fire (on his part) and Ivy has always been there for him. Although, she regards him much like an appendage, necessary and taken for granted, Ivy started to see him a more hotter way hotter light. Too bad he is the town bicycle and most of the girls in their college have gone for a rid

First of all, don't judge a book by it's cover in this case. The cover seems to suggest that this is more of a novel geared towards teens, but it is exactly the opposite! This is a new adult novel that has adult situations and conversations as well as some pretty steamy loving! After finishing the novel, the cover makes more sense to me and I'm thankful to be able to share that this is truly a book worth reading and no, it's not for teens!

I loved the fact that the story revolved around the colle

Jaycee DeLorenzo did a great job in this book. She had me from the first paragraph and I just couldn't put the book down.
Ivy and Ian are best friend since childhood. They are now in college in their junior year and doing a talk radio show about relationships and sex.
Ivy is the type of girl that just doesn't care much of what others think. She was raised an independent strong willed women by her activist mom. Although her part in this duo radio show may make her fellow college students assume she

Wow. Just WOW.
This book sent me on a rollercoaster of emotions. Seriously, it's hard to find a book that you are really in love with. Sure, there are books that you read and you're like "oh okay, that was nice" but then there are books that you find yourself so engrossed in! AND THIS WAS ONE OF THEM.

I was rooting for Ian and Ivy the entire time and all the obstacles and everything that happened just made the book so much better. Finished it in 2 days, I didn't want it to end!

This was a really sweet romance between bad boy Ian and nice girl next door Ivy. The two are childhood friends and Ivy knows Ian like nobody else does. In college the two join together to host a radio show about dating and mating. While they have kept their relationship platonic so far, Ian does do his best to sabotage Ivy's romantic life. She feels like he is being an older brother, and he doesn't want to look to far into his reasons for doing so. After an almost kiss and a friendly turned sexy ...more

I LOVED this book! It was such a refreshing change from all the new adult books I've been reading lately. No sad, depressing, angsty characters. And NO cliffhanger ending! This is a full book complete with an epilogue to nicely wrap things up in the end. It appears that this might be a series and I hope that's the case because the secondary characters were great too. The main characters Ivy and Ian were so well written and just made me feel like they were real people that I might've met in colle ...more

Oh my gosh! I don't know why I read this.

I don't give out one star ratings very often, but I just couldn't stomach this book at all....I wanted to give up on it so many times but I just didn't. I think a weird part of me was sure it was going to get better, and it didn't.

This was supposed to be a love story, but I didn't see it. For me there was no connection and when a plot is as simple as this one, it's all about the characters. I found that the characters just didn't grow, they didn't change

It took me a few pages to warm up, and then I was at it all morning. Read straight through to 4am.
Ivy and Ian have a great dynamic, and while I found myself wanting to physically punch both of them in the face at certain points, I really connected to them as characters. I think as Jaycee advanced furthur into the book, her writing style became much more relaxed, and easy to flow along with.
There is this fantastic scene, where Ian shows up at Ivy's apartment after a run in with his step-monster,
A sweet story about crazy best friends evolving into more. Slowly and with difficulties, and well, maybe not a "sweet" story per se; it's kind of realistic and the characters can really be moody! Yep, I really enjoyed these "real-life" elements ;)

- The h would verbally slap a person for being obnoxious (or saying uncomfortable truths)
- The H didn't just say or do whatever a hero-man should dictated by a fantastical (female) notion.
The rest of the characters were also nice and one
