An interesting history of the iconic campanile, which survives several dry narrative patches.

A quick, easy read about a structure we all know about, but will probably never visit. The various methods tried over the centuries to right the tower, or just to keep it from falling over, are the best parts of this work.
Plus the unique shape of the book itself.

This book is unbalanced. It's short, but the author spends more time explaining why he thinks Galileo did not drop things from the tower than he does explaining how engineers stopped it from falling over.

This started out interesting, but then started leaning towards boredom. By the end of the book my interest started to keel right over.

Very interesting story of the Tower of Pisa from the very beginning--when it was already leaning.

This just goes to show that if the writing is good, you can make a book about any subject interesting.
