In this very short book which can easily be read in one sitting, Della Galton recounts the story of how she rescued stray dog Lindy and her thirteen puppies from a beach on the Greek island of Rhodes. After getting them all to a nearby animal sanctuary, Della and her husband flew home. It was only a couple of weeks later that Della decided to bring Lindy to England - she was unlikely to be re-homed in Greece and was facing a death sentence.

Della Galton exudes warmth and compassion in her writing
More a short story than a book as I read it in about an hour. However it was a lovely short read, peopled with the authors lovable dogs, especially the eponymous Lindy.

Spotted running wild on a beach on Rhodes, cadging food from sunbathers Lindy barely registers on Dellas animal radar and the author is determined not to get involved. Yet when Lindy is found to be raising a litter of 13 pups in a rough cave by the beach, its Della who contacts a local animal charity and takes on the task of rescu

This is a story of a rescued dog. Saved in Greece from what would probably have been a very sad life, Lindy is brought home to England and loved.

She thanks her new owners by getting into one scrape after another, but you have to give it to her. She does it in style, and manages to almost kill herself nine times in the process, hence the title of the book.

This is such a heartwarming story, told in an excellent way that made me both laugh and cry. The book is quite short, but every page is entert
Easily read in a couple of hours, this heart-warming little story with photos, of Lindy's rescue and eventual transportation to the UK can't fail to amuse the reader. Although the chronicling of her '9 lives' is there, it does not read as a list. Be prepared and have some tissues handy as it brought tears to my eyes once or twice.
A heartfelt short story about a dog and all the trials and tribulations that follow her. I love the fact that this author went to great lengths to rescue Lindy and continues to assist animals in need by fostering. A great story with a sad but inevitable ending.
Really enjoyed this takes on a journey throw a dots eyes and how family look after her.very sad yet happy at same time
Wonderful story of a wonderful family whose life was enriched by a dog. I enjoyed the story and the pictures.
Heart warming tale of a dog rescued from Greece and brought to the UK - have some tissues handy.
