A young girl visits her uncle's sheep ranch in the Australian bush. When they discover that a wombat has been digging under the fence, they first try to block the wombat's path, then build a little gate for the wombat to use. One night they actually get to see the wombat in action.

It's too bad that this book seems to be out of print and unavailable. We like it so much that we have worn our copy out and now can only read it if we are v-e-r-y careful. Wonderful story about a girl visiting her uncle's farm in the Australian bush and their encounters with a wombat.
