Alexis Beranger never could have anticipated the shock of being carjacked with her son still in the backseat. Or that Tague Lambert, part of the rich and famous Lamberts of Dallas, would be there to help. Alexis Beranger has her car jacked with her son, Tommy, in the backseat. Tague Lambert comes to the rescue. Sort of. He happened to be in the right place for Alexis to request help. But he is not ready to walk away in the aftermath and it appears that Alexis still needs help desperately.

It wasn't bad for a Harlequin but it wasn't great either. The whole situation seemed really far-fetched. The story left you with a few unanswered questions but it wasn't a cliffhanger.
Very good book that started with a heart-stopping chase. When her car was stolen with her son still inside, she convinced Tague to follow the car so it wouldn't get away. When talking to the police about the theft, Tague realized that Alexis was hiding something. Loved this book. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading. The beginning is like BAM!. Id def. recommend this book to everyone who like romance and suspense.
Not sure I will read other books in this series. The author has something against a good ending.

In Wayne’s romantic suspense novel, Alexis Beranger and her son are carjacked. Fortunately for her, Tague Lambert, a member of “The Lamberts” of Dallas, stops to help. Tague felt an immediate attraction to Alexis that just wouldn’t go away. Vowing to protect the stranger and her little toddler, no matter the cost.

A fast-paced, well thought out storyline that ke

Normally, I like Joanna Wayne's stories, but this one and the previous story in the series (Son of a Gun), have really terrible endings. You know there's one to follow, but they really don't end logically. Almost like an editor said, 'wait, stop here, they'll buy the next one if you just end it here...' - silly? maybe so, but that's the way I see it.

The remainder of the stories for both Son and a Gun and Live Ammo are good - good action, good character development, keeps you going and then... a
I love it when you start reading a book and you just can't put it down. This is one of those books a must read.
