I wanted to like this better than I did. Dry and academic in tone, I found this book on extremophiles something to get through and periodically interesting rather than something to enjoy. There was a lot of interesting information but the presentation left me really looking forward to being done. Even the profiles that he interjected periodically to lighten the tone and even out the presentation were formatted (not his fault, I know) in such a way that they damaged the flow of the already-clumsy...more
