He Was a Gentleman...

In tuxedo and bow tie, Jordan Tavistock was the unlikeliest burglar. But when a chum asked him to steal back some X-rated love letters from her ex-lover's estate, he had no choice but to oblige. He never expected to get caught...by another thief.

She Was a Wanted Woman...

Despite her protests, Diana Lamb was too sleek to be anything but a cat burglar. In

I get back what I've said in my review of In Their Footsteps. This is my least favorite Gerritsen book. I struggled to finish this one.

Stolen, also known as Thief of Hearts, is the second Tavistock book and whilst it’s an improvement upon the first book I do consider it to be one of Tess Gerritsen’s weakest reads. In fact, I consider the two Tavistock books to be my least favourite Gerritsen reads. Neither were as strong as other books by the author, and such a thing saddened me, as I’d hoped I would really enjoy them.

Stolen was much closer to being a four star read, making it a massive improvement upon the first one. Whilst in

Hmmm what can i say about this book... That i regret spending any money to buy this book even though it's on sale and that I hope Gerritsen's Rizzoli and Isles series are nothing like this. Because if it is, i might as well donate them all.

The reason i bought this book was because i heard good things about the rizzoli and isles series, so when i saw this book in the 3 for 2 bargain bins at Borders, I bought three of Gerritsen's earlier books. but this is nothing like the mystery-thriller type of

Extremely predictable plot, a female protagonist that made me want to bash my head into a wall and a completely unbelievable romance. I'm trying to think back to when I read the first book and if it was this bad, since I remember liking it. But then again I was fifteen, so maybe these books are more suited for teenagers.
In favor of this book, it isn't too long and it's easy to read. If I had brain damage, I might have enjoyed it more.

2.5 stars...

One of Tess' earlier works... I've read many of her early books and still found them enjoyable. This one just fell flat for me. Couldn't get into the characters and found their attraction pretty unbelievable. I never "felt" it. Maybe the fact that I just read her newest book and loved it made the sub par stuff glaringly obvious in this one.

Tess Gerritsen's Rizzoli Isles series is one of my favorites. Unfortunately this isn't of the same standard. Nice escapist read on holiday but pretty predictable.

When Jordan Tavistock found himself in the unenviable position of first time burgler, he didn’t expect to be caught. But caught he was, and not by the inhabitants of the house, no, by another burgler! Clea Rice had burgled before, she had spent time in prison for past misdeeds, but she didn’t expect to have her plans thwarted by a bumbling, noisy amateur. As they escaped the house together, Clea without what she came for and Jordan with what he came for, he didn’t realize his aristocratic life h ...more

The Thief of Hearts is Tess Gerritsen’s 10th stand-alone novel. Jordan Tavistock, doing a favour for a friend, encounters a very attractive female thief whilst himself trying to steal some letters from a local wealthy playboy’s bedroom. Soon, Jordan chances upon Clea Rice again, and after a narrow escape from an exploding car, their destinies seem to become irrevocably entwined. While Clea thinks Jordan would be safer leaving her to fend for herself, Jordan isn’t about to let that happen. Lots o ...more

I am sorry to say that this book was a complete disappointment. Having read "The Surgeon" and "The Apprentice", I had much higher expectations of the writer. I confess that I checked the cover twice to make sure that it was really her name on it. In a few words, the plot was weak, predictable and uninteresting, the romance was cheap and some of the descriptions were almost soft-porn. Needless to say, that was irrelevant to the development of the plot and didn't contribute to it in any way. Deep ...more

It's not the worst book I've ever read but it's definitely no where near the best! I found the character of Clea fairly annoying and the romance with Jordan really didn't move me at all. Nothing really special I'm starting to wonder what all the fuss about Tess Gerritsen is actually about. This book is like a bad Mills and Boon and most Mills and Boon books are bad!

I've heard Rizzoli and Isles is better but I'm yet to discover if that's true. This has kind of put me off.

Tess'in yazdığı ilk kitaplardan olduğu nasıl da belli. Polisiye, gerilim falan değil de keyifli bir macera romanıydı. 3/5

It's pretty obvious that "Stolen" is one of the first works of Gerritsen. Was not a thriller or detective kind but was an adventure novel, can be read with delight.

This is the first book by Tess Gerritsen that I have read.
I loved the plot and the concept of a thief and gentleman though do feel the romance almost started to over shadow the case Jordan and Clea are working on solving. It's refreshing having two non-law enforcement characters working together, even if one of them has family who are involved in it.
Interesting characters gripping plot, and overall enjoyable read

Novels by Tess Gerritsen were first recommended to me by my friend Ann. Ann is a scientist and Gerritsen was a medical doctor before she was an author so I thought the books might be too scientific for me. I delayed reading any of her books but now I really enjoy them. This author writes a very good thriller. Gerritsen was born on 12 June, 1953 in San Diego, California, USA. She is now an American novelist having retired as a physician. In 1975, Gerritsen graduated from Stanford University in Ca ...more

This book screams typical.
Definitely not Gerritsen at her best but good enough for a quick read. Not a must read. If you must remove something from your TBR, this could be one of it.

There wasn't really much on the mystery side. I never had that "I need to know what happens next" moment, mostly were just a "k fine, next". It was like watching a typical average action movie with a well dressed gentleman and a hot supposedly-troubled-but-not-really woman. No surprises in store, everything was pret

"Thief of Hearts" by Tess Gerritsen
(from back cover)

He was a gentleman bandit, she was a cat burglar. And they caught each other in more ways than one. But their desire was as strong as their distrust, and Jordan Tavistock began to fear that Diana Lamb was more than just a thief of hearts.........

MY THOUGHTS: This is the second book by Tess Gerritsen that I have read. I liked this one just as much as the first one. You may ask how one book can be a Conspiracy Thriller and a Romance Thriller at t

Sequel to "In their footsteps"
While running a gentleman's errand for a ladyfriend in distress, Jordan Tavistock suddenly finds himself up to his neck in trouble with an international arms dealer, who also dabbles in insurance fraud, and who certainly does not appreciate anyone sticking their noses in his business.

I read this book before, not realising it was a sequel, and I had trouble then, placing some of the characters. There's some characters who just show up, but have no real role in this s

Reformed cat burglar Clea Rice has witnessed enough crimes to put her on the straight and narrow. But little does she suspect that her search for justice will land her in the arms of wealthy English gentleman Jordan Tavistock. As their attraction grows, so does the danger. Now their biggest concern isn’t whether a proper gentleman and a cat burglar can find happiness...it’s whether they’ll survive long enough to find out.

I enjoyed this book, and the one that came before. However, I found myself

Not the best thriller, but it works for lazy days. It has it's thrills, but to me, it seems to be more focused on love. Maybe because it was one of the first writings of Gerritsen, it doesn't have that impact that is found in her other books. However, I enjoyed it. I really recommend Gravity or Harvest.

I listened to this as an unabridged audio. This was an early Tess and different than the later books of hers I have read. This had humor sparkling throughout, and I thought it was adorable, especially the hero. Thought it's older, it's my favorite Tess so far. Wish she would do this more often instead of the constant intense thrillers. The narrator was awful... all the characters sounded female but the females were more high-pitched and annoying. Difficult at best to tell the difference between ...more
