Well, to my suprise, I really liked this one. I'm going to keep going with the series

It's not often that a manga is based on a video game (instead of the other way around). But the manga does a good job of telling the same story, but with slightly different points of view and more depth and character interaction, so that it is a good retelling. A friend who hadn't played the game also enjoyed the story, so it's not necessary to play the video game to read this action/drama manga.

I'm a huge fan of the Suikoden video game series, so when I heard they were making a manga adaptation of Suikoden III, I was beyond excited. S3 isn't my favorite of the series (mostly due to the terrible way they butchered the Suikoden battle system), but I did enjoy the story, so I'm glad they made the manga. It's not exactly the same as the game, but it keeps the main plot intact while eliminating some of the "fluff" that comes with an RPG that's not always good for TV/anime/novel ad...more
