Simply-made decorations for home or school are an absorbing way for children to become involved in the celebration of the festivals of the year. This book is a totally revised compilation of the authors' highly successful Christmas, Easter and Harvest Craft Books.
We have made lots of the craft ideas from this book now. We got it out today for some inspiration. I think if you saw this book for the first time it does look quite dated but there are some really nice ideas in it. The crafts are nature inspired and will definitely appeal to families who like steiner style crafts. There are plenty of ideas in here that you don't have to follow exactly, which we like. Plenty of templates to trace too if you need to. We like the stain glass windows and scenes, the jam jar scenes for candles and the overlapping white hexagons which show a star through the single layers when a candle is inside.
I looked through an older version (2000) of this book from the library. I hope the format of the book was updated in subsequent printings. Some of the projects particularly caught my attention and look very promising.
I only use this for the section on paper stars, but it's wonderful for that. There are some cute other crafts in here too, very nature-oriented, but... I'm all about the paper stars.
