This is an excellent foldout detailing the birds of the Nile Valley. It would be so easy to tuck it into a suitcase or backpack and take it along on your birding expedition. The color and quality is excellent. I particularly like the way there are notations on which birds to look for in each season.

Even though I'm not traveling to Egypt anytime soon, this publication is really beautiful and engaging to read, despite being on the small side. I had no idea how the Nile Valley is such a major route for so many birds, and how exotic some of them are. Now all the hieroglyphs make more sense, as the ancient Egyptians depict so many bird species in their artwork. I'm not really a bird expert, but I like to learn about unique and cool animals, and this guide is perfect as an introduction to that. ...more
