Middle graders will enjoy this book that describes all the acts that animal control officers must perform in the line of duty. Solid introduction to animal control officers. Glossary & bibliography in the back make good source material. I wish the photos used were really always true depictions of the stories mentioned in the text. Sometimes the text was about a male officer rescuing a dog but the officer featured was a female, etc. I loved seeing cute puppies & kittens get rescued, but also interesting to read about the snakes and beavers they help, as well.

bookaday #24. Book starts off with lots of tension, especially for dog lovers, with a report of a successful rescue of a dog that fell through ice. The rest covers other duties of animal control officers keeping animals and the public safe.
