This is the second novel for C. G. Haberman and for his hero, CJ Hand, this one set in northwest Iowa tapping into a bit of the culture and political undercurrents of a small college. Additionally, we get a look at plant life - native grasses, flowers and other plants of that area.

Mill Creek Malice finds CJ Hand in the midst of another mystery where his analytic nature is again put to the test to resolve a missing persons story. Haberman maintains a loose continuity with his first novel, Deadly

This was a great detective mystery story placed in Northwestern Iowa. The hero is sort of a Midwestern Robert Langdon who has a daytime job as a community college professor. I actually learned a little about science and biology as I absorbed the plot. A fine effort and I recommend the book.
