“I have received this complimentary book from Book crash in exchange for my honest review”

The first thing that I did when I received this book was flip through the pages and check out the CD. The symbols are pretty basic. Having a guide for the symbols was a good idea, although a few of the symbols could easily be deciphered if you put some thought into it. The thought behind this book was that it would be a good book for children, but I am not sure that is true. When I was a child, this type of

The Christian Alphabet Book was written as a visual method for teaching children the basic principles of Christianity through the letters of the alphabet, using traditional artful symbols representing Christianity. Two pages are devoted to each letter of the alphabet. The left-sided page teaches a basic lesson featuring a Christian word that begins with the featured letter of the alphabet. This page also provides an activity for the child through a dove called "Love, the dove from above" (repres ...more

Have you ever seen one of those old primers in which children were taught their ABCs using references to the Bible? “A is for Adam, who was the first man; He broke God’s command, and thus sin began.” The Christian Alphabet is a unique, visual, and enjoyable way for parents and grandparents to help youngsters learn the basics of Christianity. Using letters drawn from close to 100 ancient and modern images used in the past 2000 years as traditional Christian symbols, ‘“Love,” the dove from above, ...more

Christianity has used symbols to represent their faith throughout the ages. Sometimes it was to beautify stories or the Bible. Sometimes it was to designate a meeting place when Christians were in hiding. The author of Christian Alphabet Book had a goal of teaching the English ABCs to children using symbology to structure the letters of the alphabet. Each letter is used to key into lessons to learn about faith and God. And each letter, consisting of a variety of symbols, tells a story from the B ...more

There are lots of alphabet books available, but what makes this a unique book is that each letter of the alphabet is made with Christian symbols. Two pages are devoted to each letter. On those pages there is a word that begins with the featured letter, some further information about that word or quality, the letter made out of symbols, and a Bible verse. There is also a picture of a dove, called “Love,” the dove from above, which appears with each letter. Love asks the reader to do or answer som ...more

This book, as the title suggests, is not any specific "denomination." It's not Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant. The author, Tracy Sands, uses various pictures to compose and make up all twenty-six letters of the alphabet. She then associates a Christian word for each letter, i.e., G is for God and J is for Jesus. Lastly, each letter/Christian word comes with an definition, Scripture verses, activities you can do to reinforce the word, and an explanation of all the symbols associated with each ...more

One day, Tracy Sands was sitting in the back pew of a church when she suddenly felt overcome with an intense urge to draw. With only the pen in her pocket and the church program, she began to doodle the images and ideas that were quickly racing through her mind. That was the beginning of The Christian Alphabet Book: Teaching Children about Jesus, Prayer, and the Bible, an alphabetical look into the Christian faith.

Going further than your standard children's bible story book, this book gets into

I asked for this book off of the Bookcrash book review program because it looked like a good teaching tool. As the oldest of a homeschooling family, I certainly have these things on my mind. :)
The book is well done, with slick pages and concise drawings. Each letter is backed up with a scripture, small activity, and symbols to go through. The books stuck with the Bible and didn't go into theological issues, which I appreciated.
I especially appreciated the musical CD included. With several siblin

The Christian Alphabet by Tracy Sands is a beautiful and unique way to teach your child not only the alphabet but also about Jesus, the Bible, and prayer. There are beautiful illustrations on each page which symbolize something significant in the Bible and it includes an explanation guide so an adult is equipped to answer any questions that a child might have. The Christian Alphabet by Tracy Sands is very creative and I would highly recommend to anyone who has young children in their lives.

Though very sweet with loads of scripture, prayer and fun activities... The letters are so creatively designed that my 5 year old couldn't make out half of them - all she could see were the pictures that made the letter.
