More of the same and that's a good thing. The quality of this series continues and expectations are met. Chis is still getting used to her new home and now she ventures off out into the world from this new home for the first time. Rather than cute, funny episodes; this time Chi has some shocks, scares and wonders at new unusual things as she gets used to the world around her. Not laugh out loud funny this time but more endearing as we react to Chi's feline nature and reactions to the human world ...more

This is the fifth volume in Chi’s Sweet Home. It was just as cute, funny, and family friendly as the previous four volumes. My whole family reads this series together and this is one of my 7 year old son’s absolutely favorite series of books right now.

Chi is still getting settled in to her new home. There are other pets there but they seem to be content with their lots in life. Chi explores the mysterious upstairs of the apartment, ransacks Mr. Yamada’s office, and then goes on a tour of the nei

This is the fifth book in the Chi's Sweet Home series. I'm starting to get invested in the characters and was thrilled to see Blackie's return.

I like that we get to know other cats in the neighborhood and discover where Chi's mother lives. I liked the diagram of the neighborhood at the end of the story so the reader can the see the extent of Chi's adventures.

Chi becomes a bit more bold in this tale and explores outside of the confines of the family's yard. I liked that the other cats were will

more cuteness from chi. she moves house, she gets her fur brushed, she thinks about her mama and does cute face.

Yes, I'm still hooked on these. The drawings are delightful, and I've said before that she really captures the essence of cats. Chi looks an awful lot like my Gwen. The only difference is that my cats are indoor-only cats, and Chi goes wandering outside and gets lost and needs help finding her way home. Along the way she makes friends with Auntie Calico, and reunites with her old friend Blackie. We also get a foreshadowing that there might be a reunion with her mama and siblings in a future volu ...more

Oh my goodness this was SOOOOOOOO CUTE! I didn't know there were other books, mom got this one at Genericon but I don't think it matters that I read book five first. The book, the whole thing, is simply about a really cute kitten going about their life and exploring and meeting neighbors. Yet somehow, even though nothing really happens, you fall in love with Chi, I just want to give her a big hug! (I think it's a her) Anyway I recommend it for any age and for people who like really light cute ma ...more

Chi's Sweet Home, Volume 5 is full of new outdoor adventures for the mischievous little Chi. Her wide-eyed curiosity and innocence always brings me great cheer. I love
Everyday is an adventure for Chi as she explores her new home, neighborhood, meeting new animals, dealing with and learning new things, scares and situations. It was adorable, as usual. What is different in this one is that we get a glimpse of Chi's original family (who may actually be looking for her - which could lead to a new story arc, so to speak. We also see the return of a wonderful old friend. So a great deal of fun (with the potential of more "drama" to come).

Overall this is a great series that is full of color and fun. There is not an abundance of text so it will not be intimidating for beginning chapter book readers. The illustrations help with some of the context of the words. While some of the words may be a little more difficult overall the stories are simple with very short chapters. A cute story that kids will enjoy.

Chi is a born explorer! But exploring leads to trouble, of course. Chi can find more ways than your average cat to get herself into trouble. But whether is it getting lost in the park, getting stuck on sticky tape, avoiding the “barks” or making new friends, Chi is entertaining. This series is delightful from beginning to end.

In this volume we are with Chi and her crazy adventures all around her "town".
Excited to know when Chi will know more about her mother ^_^
It's a really good manga for 7-12 girls and cat owners!

I think the person that does these books must have a cat because the cat is adorable and the antics are typical for new kittens
Un peu moins intéressant que le précédent mais dans ce volume, Chi retrouve un vieil ami!

Very cute, but a little too young for me.

Readers get more of a view of Chi and her family's neighborhood as Chi spends most of the book exploring the great outdoors. She meets up with Blackie again and finds her old apartment. She even almost reunites with her mother and siblings.

A great series for pet lovers of all ages.

I love Alice, the Scottish Fold cat.

So many fun moments in this, like Chi getting tape stuck to her and trying to get it off, and discovering how the cat flap works. Every day is an adventure for her.

These books really seem to have hit their stride and are really enjoyable.

Still fun. Kanata has a keen eye for cat behavior and her cats manage to be cute without being cloyingly so. Also in this volume we get a map of Chi's neighborhood which is nice. I like being able to see where the buildings are in relation to each other.

I like how there's an underlying theme in the books aka Chi not knowing who her mama is. I enjoy this series. It's light. It's sweet. It's adorable. Yet there is nothing memorable or hugely detailed about it. Just a fun, light read really.

Although the story line does progress, most of these books are pretty much the same. Cute kitten does cute stuff. Perfect for an overtired brain right before going to sleep. There is comfort in repetition.

Can Chi get any cuter? Apparently so.

With each volume, Chi just gets more and more adorable.

And this volume comes with more cats than ever before! And a few reappearances.
