A collection of short stories from China and Japan dealing with women of various time periods from the early 600s to the modern time (mid 1900s). If you're interested in literature about women (with a feminist bent), this is a great read. It's fascinating to read the development and portrayal of women over the centuries (but I admit to being rather ignorant in this area and therefore possibly easily moved).
