The real story behind Elle S'appellait Sarah ......republished with an intro by Tatian de Rosnay ......a collection of letters/notes found at Yad Vashem written by people held at Vel D'Hiv and the transit camps .....together with some witness accounts. Nightmarishly real .......what can you say ...........

Heartbreaking collection of letters sent from the Vel'd'Hiv and subsequent transit camps by Jews arrested in Paris by French police in July 1942. Shameful period in France's history during the German occupation.
While reading this book, I couldn't help but think of the plight of the Syrian refugees and feel renewed shame to live in a country that is not doing more to help.
