Title: Hot Stuff
Author: Carly Phillips
Format: Print
Page Number: 377

Hero/Heroine’s Names: Annabelle and Vaughn

Thoughts:
I was really in a mood for a delicious sports romance. Though this was not exactly what I was looking for, I did really enjoy Hot Stuff. As an older sister, I get was Annabelle was going through (though she was going though it on a very magnified level). I though the hero was really charming. Vaughn had a misunderstanding with Annabelle’s uncle and I thought it was pretty perfect...more

I didn't realize what I was getting into when I picked this book up at WalMart. I don't like to shop there but it was the one shopping location available when I went on vacation with my friend's family. Usually I consider myself a very detail oriented person, but the little Harlequin logo went under the radar. Eventually, when slapped in the face by sexy-time writing, I realized it was a Romance Novel I was surprised. Anyhow, the story was pretty engaging and you routed for the main character to...more

This is the kind of book you read when you're stuck on a Greek isle and have absolutely no english reading material. As a person who can appreciate trashy romance novels, I would recommend against this one. It will take you about two hours to read, but better to try to figure out the Greek on the box of cookies you purchased.

My first Carly Phillips read, not my last! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the family behind the Hot Zone, and look forward to getting to know them better through the rest of the Hot Zone series.

All three sisters - Annabelle the oldest, Sophie the middle girl, and Micki the youngest are great. Each with her own individual style and personality, but so dedicated and loving toward each other, as well as Lola their surrogate mother, and their cranky Uncle Yank.

The overall story was great, a fun read,...more

I think I've finally figured out why I always feel like there is something missing in Carly Phillips books--there's just not much character development. She tends to tell us what the characters are like rather than show us. Plus, everything happens too fast--they meet and wham! next minute they're making out and on their way to bed. Now, I'm all for sexual attraction, but in her books these characters are already discerning the inner workings of each other with very few words even exchanged. The...more

This is a fun book to read. It would be perfect to read while sipping a margarita on the beach!

totally hilarious! i love this author!!

It was a lot of fun following Annie and Vaughn's story with their underlying sense of understanding for each other's character. Though i tried to read the next one which is Micki's story it was not that nice when the two books is immediately read there were a sort of pattern with the how the couple would get to indulge their attraction, hope it would be a different tactic but alas. Looking forward to the other books of the author!!!!! XD I am soo excited hoe Yack and Lola would go about their su...more

Hot Stuff - a sports/law / publicist agency - headed by Yank Morgan - who adopted his 3 neices (@ ages 8, 10, & 12) when his sister & their parents died... Now the women all earned their MBAs and work for the office...

back story is Yank Morgan - gruff, womanizer, did his best by the girls, in love with his assitant Lola, but holding back, especially after he learns he is going blind.

Annabelle - the oldest - plagued by fear that she will lose those she loves - the fear that the system wil...more

A cute and fun read by Phillips. This is a second book that I have read from Phillips and with the first book I was really disappointed. However, this was a light read and kept me turning the pages. What I particularly like about this story is the romance was hot and steamy right in the middle of the book! ha (I didnt have to wait until the end like some romance novels!!)

Annabelle is the niece of a high profile owner of a PR company. Her and her sisters have grown up in their uncle's world of hi...more

I'm big on backstory that makes sense, and this story of Annabelle and her two sisters that because of an accident they were left orphaned and in the care of a very warmhearted Uncle who had know idea how to raise a child let alone three little girls that had just lost so much. It was heart warming the care and love between the girls and Uncle Yank and for that matter Lola (my favorite side character). Even though this story is about Annabelle and Brandon who by the way have loads of HOT chemist...more

Funny, hot sex and a dash of mystery mixed with the backstory of three little orphaned girls, a swinging bachelor uncle and you have a great blend for a really good book.

Annebelle is the oldest of the three sisters and has grown up around the jocks her uncle represents as a sports agent. She has also gotten up close and very personal with a few that have left her with a few barriers firmly in place. Enter Brandon Vaughn, an ex-football legend trying to rehab an old lodge in his hometown and has...more

First book I've read by Phillips, and I wasn't disappointed. When I look for some juicy fun girlie romance book, I will look at her books in the future. Actually loved it so much I read the whole hot zone series. Some of it is predictable, but I don't mind that. Still a fun, easy book to be entertained by.

I love Carly Philips and her writing style.

You immediately fall in love with all three of the Jordan sisters in Hot Stuff - and there unique differences, and you can't forget about Uncle Yank and Lola. Throw in one sexy retired football player - Brandon Vaughn- who is trying to open a lodge for children with learning disabilites, you have yourself a 5 star book!

Hot Zone Agent/Publicist is filled with three hot sisters, and Anabelle Jordan is the oldest and barbie-ist of the sisters. When she i...more

hmm its a long time since am reading this type of adult romance:P..
Well the story is about three girls(Amanda, Sophie and Michelle) who end up orphans and in the arms of their uncle.
Now older the girls and their Uncle Yank is the owner of hot zone, there they manage the image of hot handsome athele.
Hot stuff is about the elder sister, who does not give her heart easily but is really frenk when she want someone.
And when she meet the Brandon Vaughn who was a famous sportman but now is trying to ma...more

I'm a lover of hot, fun little romance books and Carly Phillips is right up my alley. This is my second book of hers but I have several more and am looking forward to them. The Hot Zone books center around a middle-aged guy and his three nieces that help him run his sports agency, The Hot Zone. This was the story of Annebelle who has a knack for picking the wrong guys that keep breaking her heart and Brandon, an ex-football player turned retreat owner. He is having problems with vandalism at his...more

Cute story. Some of the sentences were choppy and the flow was disjointed in places which took away from my reading pleasure.

I can't blame my bias against Harlequin Books for this 2 star review. The author created a good story, but the editing left a lot to be desired.

Another predictable romance novel. I usually like Carly Phillips, but this one kept going on. All the 'twists' were too predictable for me, I knew who was sabotaging things when the person was introduced. The relationship between Annabelle and Vaughan was too much for me. One minute he was pushing her away, the next they're in love. Like all other romance novels, the relationships happen too quickly for love with not enough to really build up to it. Although it's an enjoyable read, it's not some...more

Laugh out Loud funny...Annabelle sees what she wants and go get it and that just happen to be Brandon Vaughn...Brandon had his problems growing up as a kid and now after being out of the game due to knee injury, he is back with his last publicist to help put his up and coming camp in good light but the one person he is trying to avoid is the person assigned to him...Annie and Brandon are one hot couple in a small town and they can't deny the chemistry, so Vaughn gave up when it came to Aninie se...more

This was a cute book and my first (I think) by this author. It's summer so I like more fun, contemporary romances (so I can pay attention to the kids in the pool while I'm reading).

My only complaint about this book was that both the H and h were holding a little too strongly onto childhood issues. h's issues seemed kind of silly since her deepest fears stemmed from an overheard converstation of a possibility and never happened. So while I felt for her, it got old.

Overall though, I'd recommend t...more

This was my first book from Carly Phillips and honestly I've been disappointed.
First it's short, really short - I would say I needed something like half the time usually required for another normal length book to finish it. Second the characters are grossely depicted but with no finesse or depth. Everything happens really quickly to them.
However I liked the prologue and the starting point of the family.
A very very light beach read; I've read much better light-hearted fun romances in a quite simi...more

not bad .... not great, but not bad.
easy read, good story, witty characters ...

If you've read the Chandler brother series the bachelor then you've pretty much read this. Instead of three brothers it is three sisters. Instead of the newspaper business in a small town, it is the PR business and sports figures.

Decent, but nothing original.

Since Carly Phillips' books are either hit or miss for me, I wasn't expecting too much, but I was pleasantly surprised! I liked the characters, the plot was fresh, and I loved every relationship in the book, especially the side romances of Yank & Lola and Nick & Mara. A very fast, fun, nice, and cute book to spend some time with.
