This is a stunning catalog with helpful essays about the artist, work and influence, and packed with gorgeous reproductions of Watanabe's work. That said, there is nothing better than standing in front of a Watanabe on the wall. CIVA is currently making the pieces that are documented in this volume available as a traveling exhibit so keep on the lookout for that.
