Refocus on the fight.

Ten years ago, when radical Islamist terrorists used three U.S. airplanes to kill nearly three thousand of our countrymen, America was angry. It was a focused and justified anger--one that generated clear objectives and a willingness to meet them. But that resolve has deteriorated so much that many of our nation's top political and military leaders wil

I don't know how to give a review on this. I'm a Muslim, and I think that the book has lost some important aspect; all human are human and Muslims are human too. I feel sad when all Muslims are categorized as terrorist and the fact that being pointed out from Koran are mostly only a part of actual Surah.

The author should do a very detail and deep research on the whole aspect of Islam teachings. We may be different due to religions, but we were thought to respect each other either Muslims or not

This book is brief. It is an easy read, and makes many excellent and important points. My criticism is that it bogs down examining Islam and the decade following 9/11. I tuned out to some extent; because these facts are familiar to me, and depressing. It concerns me that some readers focused in defensively on these chapters at the expense of the more original material. They would have the authors balance negative narrative with affirmative support of "majority peaceful Muslims." To this concern, ...more

A Book For All Americans!

Admittedly I put off writing this review for a week or more. The reason-I was incensed at what our leaders and media had done to nullify the actual threat to our county. To whitewash over the danger,to pacify those that pose the threat, who’ve made us more vulnerable because of these actions. We are talking about radical Muslims who’s sole purpose is to destroy America and Israel and have boldly stated such. Those sects that urge their followers to plot and attack every c

A clear detailed view on the veil that has fallen over America regarding who our real enemy is and how we are more unsafe than ever.

The Fight Of Our Lives gets right to the point with the Fort Hood incident that happened Nov of 2009, the second worst terrorist attack in 8 years. An important point is made of this incident and how America should have been moved by that day of terror or at least given a wake-up call. This a truth many in our government don't like to talk about, which proves we are
I was given the opportunity to read this book by the publisher and I'm so glad that I snatched this book. It was an amazing read, and as a Military Wife and American I recommend that everyone read this book. Don't let the title of this book scare you or make you have any pre-conceived notions about this book. This is not just a random blathering of some right-wing, pro-war, Islamic hating person. This is a well-written and intelligent book, that includes the praise of those doing positive things ...more
The authors begin with the terror attacks committed by Dr. Nidal Hasan at Fort Hood on November 5, 2009. Using this event and the actions of President's Bush and Obama as background, Bennett & Leibsohn set out to prove that we, as Americans, have lost the will to fight terrorism. They state:

"If September 11 were not a strong enough wake-up call to the terrorist threat against us, if all the other attacks and attempted attacks failed to rouse us, then surely this attack should have jarred us

The authors have stated the facts as clearly as possible. We are in the fight of our lives and we certainly need to understand what is fueling the fire. Radical Islam is still Islam, and it is the violent teachings within Islam that is the source of the violence and hatred expressed by the terrorists today. It stems from the teachings of the Koran and is in stark contrast from the teachings of the Bible, both from the Jewish and Christian perspectives. The comparisons are presented quite well, s ...more
For the most part, William Bennet has woven together an interesting read on the state of the growing Muslim influence in the US. Now for some this will register as a book of bigoted fear mongering; while, others will see it as a call to arms. For me it was neither of these and instead fell well short of the inferred premise, "Fear the Rise of Islam in Western Nations." The reason for this is that many of his arguments are simply paper men. The real fall of the west is not connected to the "rise ...more

William Bennett and Seth Leibsohn’s book, “The Fight Of Our Lives: Knowing the Enemy, Speaking the Truth & Choosing to Win the War Against Radical Islam” is a book written to wake up America to the dangers of Radical Islam. The book does a really good job at documenting at how wimpy we’ve become as a nation in really confronting terrorism. Why are we walking on eggshells?

Bennett & Leibsohn write, “The thought seems to be that if we speak nicely of Islam and ignore the terrorism it can pr
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Book Sneeze/Thomas Nelson, for the opportunity to read and review "The Fight of our Lives", by William J. Bennett. This politically based book shows us just how fragile our lives became as a result of 9/11 and how we, if we listen and watch, can change the way in which things appear to be going.
As the cover indicates, this book also explains the by knowing the enemy, and be speaking the truth, we can choose to win the War against Radical Islam. Bennet
From the book cover

In The Fight Of Our Lives, William J. Bennett and Seth Leibsohn examine the devolution of American's post-9/11 tenacity and how this country's well-meaning culture or religious tolerance, coupled with soft anf apologetic leadership, has placed us squarely in the pocket of radical Islamists who have made clear their intention to obliterate everything we value.

My thoughts - For me this book was not an easy read! I am by no means up to date on politics and to be honest never hav
I am a huge fan of Dr. William J. Bennett, and at this point, I have read all of his books. This very short book is about America's conflict with radical Islam. When the authors (it was written along with the very conservative Seth Liebson) are talking about domestic policy with regard to radical Islam, they are spot-on. The book offers a reminder about all that's happened inside the US over the past ten years: the plots to attack us, the people involved, the response of the government, etc. As ...more
I am reviewing " The Fight Of Our Lives" by William J. Bennett and Seth Leibsohn.

This book made me pause numerous times as it was being read. It is about how politically correct we have become when it comes to radical Islam. The two authors are clear in how they feel Islam is taking advantage of the American system or rather the American people. They want our eyes to be open, not to just the fact that there are terrorist out there but why they continue to be successful at our expense. They bring

The Fight of Our Lives was written recently by William Bennett with Seth Leibsohn. If you normally do not read anything political or anything that even mentions politics, this book might change your mind. Many lives were lost during 9/11 and during the more recent incident at Fort Hood. People want to know the enemy talked about on the news and whispered throughout the government buildings. We want to know…and The Fight of Our Lives will provide good information to use on a daily basis.

William Bennett helped me re-tune to the political spectrum in his book A Century Turns, which was published in 2010. Now that it is 2011 and Bennett gives room for my fears in the book The Fight For Our Lives. The Obama administration has exemplified what was wrong with the tenants exposed to me in my 1970’s elementary education, Free To Be You and Me, it allows the Bullies ample room to dictate the rules of the playground.

But instead of Bullies with large arms and Neanderthal Thoughts, we hav

Although I am not a Conservative, I decided to give the book The Fight of Our Lives: Knowing the Enemy, Speaking the Truth and Choosing to Win the War Against Radical Islam by William J Bennett and Seth Leibsohn a chance. The Fight of Our Lives is brief (150 pages),highly focused, and easy to read I was not convinced by their arguments. However, I did take time to reflect on what I read to do justice to this review.

I feel some of the sources used by the authors to write this book lean to the ri

Noted conservative author, speaker, and educator William Bennett along with Claremont Institute fellow Seth Leibsohn have provided a concise yet relevant overview of the current issues facing our country in dealing with radical Islam. While there have certainly been numerous works, both long and short, that have been written in recent years on this topic, The Fight of our Lives nevertheless stands toe to toe with them all. Bennett and Leibsohn beginning their discussion with the tragedy at Fort ...more
Do you remember where you were on 9/11? Remember the terrible film footage? Remember the heroes?

The Fight of Our Lives by William Bennett & Seth Leibsohn is about terrorism and America. It's a review of what has occurred in the years since 9/11 and more. It's about naming who the terrorists are so that we can defend America. If we don't know who the enemy is, then how can we fight terrorism?

There were questions asked followed by thoughtful answers. Is it really so bad that American students
This short book (208 pages, approximately 150 of which are reading material) outlines the events surrounding the wars currently being waged in Iraq, Afghanistan, and in defense of our own country. It is both a history lesson and a call to action. The premise is, as the subtitle suggests, that we are both in a war and, as a country, we have softened our approach to winning it. As this review is being written on the tenth anniversary of the attack of September 11th, it is fitting to review the cha ...more

Simply outstanding. Just posted a review on the open site. This is a "must read" for any serious student of the conflicts we currently find ourselves in, regardless of your political "bend."
If you are interested in some hard talk about what we face as a nation re: terrorests then read this. Plan and frank. Thank you Dr. William (not Michael) Bennett
This should be required reading for everyone in America. So much information... all backed up by solid facts.
