Well written, and I loved how real the characters were. April's approach to being a Mistress made me a bit uncomfortable, but only because she had the new-dom's belief that to show vulnerability or not be a bitch would made her less of a dom. The relationship between April and Dean is beautiful, and I really enjoyed seeing both of them grow in their knowledge of themselves.

I got to read this book for a challenge and I enjoyed it overall.

This woman, who is completely in love with her Master, is dismayed when he said that he thought about proposing but decided not to because he was afraid that she needs more experience before she's ready for the permanent type of relationship. She ruthlessly texted and called him while baking for him. Eventually, she came across a few websites where she met different men online but none of them interest her except for one who viewe...more

This book was very interesting to read. Clarice already gets a trillion points for writing a story about an inter-racial couple (wm/bw) in a bdsm relationship and acknowledging colonialism, but she gets another trillion for the way she does it.

April is very powerful in her submission, she knows what she wants and I respect that, even though I don't feel her lover nor their relationship.

[SPOILER]

When her lover cuts her off she doesn't take it very well (understatement). It's like watching her d...more

This is a thoroughly enjoyable read. It breaks from the grain of many BDSM novels that I have read. It is not just a ‘fuck fest’, but has some interesting characters who develop or find their own roles within the BDSM scene. The synopsis is about April a submissive who only has her heart on one man. But he frees her to experience more of life before she commits to him. On her quest to gain more experiences she comes across an guy who interests her at some small level. He is a slave seeking a Mis...more

I liked this. I bought it as an inexpensive Kindle download on a whim. I'd seen it in stores, attributing it to riding the current kink-fiction bandwagon in mainstream reading. That may be so, but it has a genuine quality to it that I enjoyed.

The two perspective characters are a woman, the titular switch, and a man who identifies as a slave. Some of the settings and scenes I found to be over the top (and I know whereof I speak), but the honest seeking -- and stumbling -- by both characters rang...more

I just finished and I don't even know where to begin. This book made me extremely uncomfortable on so many different levels. I couldn't grasp what the author was trying to convey in the story. Was it all to get her man? Was she supposed to have a life changing moment through her time as "Mistress Beatrice"? It felt extremely disjointed between her relationship with her Sir, her trying to find herself or lack thereof, and her relationship with her men. Frankly, I was a bit confused and left with...more

Quite good, but the characters are a bit too one-dimensional, and as the book tries to go a bit deeper than your run-of-the-mill erotica, it just doesn't fly too well all the way through.
