Extremely difficult book to read, but forced myself because of the sheer amount of research Wenzel had done with the medieval texts aspect, and i wanted to see what references and resources he had found. It has the bad habit of presenting latin and greek text quotes untranslated, which seems awfully hard core for a book published in the 1960s. I personally don't agree with his assumption that Sloth and Acedia are one and the same, but that wasn't why I read this. This book is great as a jumping ...more
