Any couple who spends the night in the Christmas cottage shall have love everlasting... Lacey Quinn did not believe in happily ever after or the legend of the Christmas cottage. As maid of honor for her best friend Ava, her duties included decorating the cottage for the newlyweds. It was a simple enough task, but she hadn't counted on sexy Ean Callahan, the bride-to-be's b ...more

This is definitely a lesson on not judging a book by it's cover. I loved this story. It had a strong emotional appeal, believable characters (although the MC's best friend was a little over the top), a good voice, and a well structured plot. This is a five star story! I'm impressed with the story. Grammatical errors and missing words repeatedly pulled me out of the story and I still read it in a day. I was that interested, and I never lost my emotional connection to the characters and their jour ...more

I am giving this book 3 stars, mainly because it was VERY predictable. I knew what was going to happen the whole book. It was a very easy and fast read, which is always nice once in a while.

Just putting in my 2 cents here, I HATED THE END! Especially the last 2-ish pages of the book.

Also, just wanted to quite note that on the kindle edition, it does not have page numbers, which I got very annoyed at sometimes. I like when you can know whenever what page your on...

Also, the chapters are not linke

I enjoyed it.

This book is surprisingly good, despite the cover that personally to me, not that interesting. The story itself is kind of cliche, but who doesn't love cliche?

Lacey has to decorate the cottage for her best friend's wedding. She the maid of honor. She didn't know that while decorating the cottage, she'll get assisted by Ean, her best friend's brother. When she was fourteen, Lacey told Ean that she liked him but he rejected her. Now, stuck alone in a romantic cottage, what will happ

"Magical" Christmas novella!

Lacey & Ean reunite by accident at his family's legendary cottage during a snowstorm. In the past there had been some attraction between them but was left unexplored due to their age difference at the time. The flames ignite as they are forced into each other's company. Life goes on for them both until things go awry when bridezilla Ava (his sister & her best friend) gets wind of their shared night at the cottage. Ava was my least favorite character--total di

What is wrong with me? The last romance novel I read, I snickered uncomfortably through all the sex scenes (while finding myself blushingly titillated)... And then this book gently alludes to sex after some "deep" kisses, and I'm all disappointed???

This book would have been 3 stars if it had at least one shockingly scandalous sex scene. I need one to warm my cheeks while I'm reading in a public place, fearful my husband or a stranger will look over my shoulder.

Of course, you know, the plot was s

When The Christmas Cottage / Ever After book came into my local library, I thought I'd give a whirl as I'd recently enjoyed Samantha Chase's Made for Us. Legend has it that spending the night in the Callahan’s cottage is a promise of everlasting love. Lacey is Ava’s maid of honor , and Ava’s way too focused on the details of her upcoming wedding, ignoring the fact that Mason might not be the right guy for her. Lacey wishes she could ignore Ean, the groom’s best man, Ava’s brother and La

I received a complimentary book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

I started reading Samantha Chase’s books with the Montgomery Brothers series, and I loved all of them. So I was excited to read The Christmas Cottage and Ever After. However, I didn’t realize that these stories were not part of that series. On the other hand, I did discover that these stories were printed several years earlier and are reprints. However since I have never read them, I was excited to start reading th

The Christmas Cottage was another great read from Samantha Chase. I love that both of the male leads in the stories I have read are these really smart guys who are not conventionally super attractive. They are not the buff hot guys that everyone wants. They are the guys that people kind of look over or don't really see for who they are. They are not players, they are just kind of nerdy guys. I like that. It is a nice change from the obviously s

The Christmas Cottage is definitely one of those books that you can not judge by it’s cover; it may not be the prettiest, but the story that lies between the covers is one you won’t forget any time soon. I agree with some of the reviews that I have read that this could have benefited from an extra proofreading {or an extra set of eyes} to go over the few grammatical and punctuation errors. W

I love Christmas reads. We all need a bit of magic, peace and love in our world and it seems to me that Christmas related stories, be they short stories or full fledged novels, somehow fit the bill. Chase's, The Christmas Cottage, was an enchanting tale. Lacey Quinn at the ripe old age of fourteen had declared her love for Ean Callahan and experienced a humiliating rejection from the young man who was college bound and determined to make a success of his life. Oh my, how I could relate to Lacey' ...more

I absolutely loved The Christmas Cottage! So warm and sweet even though, like Lacey, I wanted to shake some sense into Ava, but both of them were acting just they way they would and should so I let Lacey handle it. I could so get her lingering embarrassment from Ean's graduation night. Who doesn't have something from childhood that we would love to change! They are both great people and and the magic of the cottage, real or fantasy, touched me as it touched them. A beautiful tale with a real lif ...more

Okay, the premise of this story is a little far fetched - A cottage that promises everlasting love if you just sleep in it (with someone special) for one night. Yeah, I know, it sounds cheesy, right? Well, it's Christmas time and with all this holiday spirit floating around I gave it a whirl.

So while Ms. Chase's "The Christmas Cottage" is a little predictable, the plot is so fine tuned that you can easily overlook that. From the moment Lacey and Ean seemed to be following the path of obvious pre

This is a delightfully, cute Christmas romance with a twist ending. Lacey's been in love with her best friend's older brother as long as she can remember. The night before he's to leave for college, she confesses her love, only to have him unintensionally humiliate her. After all, he's known her his whole life and thinks of her as another little sister. Besides, she's only fourteen and Ean's eighteen, which makes a relationship between them illegal in most states. Avoiding Ean over the next deca ...more

Lacey Quinn does not believe in happily-ever-after or the legend of the Christmas Cottage. But her best friend does, and she's the one getting married. It's Lacey's job to make sure everything at the cottage is perfect for the newlyweds. Instead, she finds herself snowed in with the best man, and she begins to wonder if fairy tales really can come true.
This is such a cute story. Love the main characters. But the families are great too. Its the kind of book you want to read every Christmas. 5 sta

Lacey Quinn has been in love with Ean Callahan, her best friend Ava's brother, since she can remember. Years ago, the night Ean graduated and Lacey was just a teenager, she professed her love for him. She made a total fool of herself and has not seen him since. Now Ava is getting married and they are both standing up in the wedding. The fairytale is, that anyone who stays in the family cottage on their wedding night will live happily every after. Ean and Lacey are in charge of decorating the cot ...more

A warm and feel good read with Lacey being in love with her best friend's brother for years. Ean coming back early for Christmas and reevaluating his life. I had to grit my teeth on Lacey's best friend Ava and her wedding. She was annoying, but the story focused on Lacey and Ean. Lacey has waited a long time for Ean, since she has been in love with him since she was fourteen. It was a short, sweet Christmas story that I would recommend for any age.

This was the first book I've read by Samantha Chase - and it won't be my last. Lacey & Ean have a tumultuous few weeks organizing Ava's wedding - and watching them negotiate that along with their growing feelings for each was a lot of fun. A great read!

Loved the layered plot and the instant connection you made with the characters. Really felt apart of the story since it was set in North Carolina and the descriptions were so that it made you think of several locations but yet could have been any house in the Raleigh or North Carolina mountains. The writing style is similar to the first book by Samantha Chase, "Jordan's Return" and the "ending" is more of a tease and strongly suggests that there is another book coming. Which I saw on the fan pag ...more
