Six young adults, one haunted house and a melody to remember for the rest of their lives. However short that may be.

When six strangers are joined together to walk through the new haunted house in town, no one is prepared for the coming attractions. Judgments are passed, names are called, and those things just may be the undoing the teens never saw coming.

A freaky mind ga

What a twisted and haunting tale of people's actions and the consequences of them. Names get called and fates are handed out but by whom? This story is powerful and creepy, it shows how seemingly harmless actions can be twisted into very gruesome endings for some. But when a final decision is to be made what matters the most, one soul or five souls and would you be able to choose the right path? Well done on this story I love it!!!

Are our thought's our own? In this thriller nothing is sacred, not your thoughts, nor your words and nor are your judgments......Just when you think it's just another Halloween fun house and it's just going to be your typical "who's gonna pop out and grab ya", you realize it's a little more than that. This short is amazingly written by the talented Monique O'Connor James who just does not know how to write a blah book, there is always something amazing that comes out of it. I don't know if i can ...more

I am always surprised when I find a story subpar that has near unanimous high ratings. I guess I was just hoping for so much more with this one. The idea was there, but the actual story fell flat for me. I couldn’t connect with any of the characters, especially the protagonist, and the “twist” at the end probably didn’t get the reaction the author was hoping for from me. The only scene that got any sort of reaction was the stripper scene (I smirked a bit); other than that... meh. On a positive ...more

Freaky, Creepy, And Awesome..... Loved it!! For most people haunted houses are creepy to begin with! But Monique has found a was to make it even creepier!! Just the thought of going in with others you don't know is enough to make it scary! You tend to feel more comfortable with friends. Brilliant Monique!!

This may only be a shorty story but it scared the pants off of me! If it had been longer i may not have slept for a week! No joke! It affected for about 3 nights!

What do you get when you take 6 teenagers that don't know each other and stick them in a haunted house together? Nothing good, at least, not for them. Each of the teens must enter a specific room and complete a task. Not all of them are going to make it out though. Super creepy and impossible to put down. This horror story has a hidden lesson in name calling and a persons behavior, there are consequences, and they aren't' very nice ones. This story is full of horrific action, and creepy, well ...more
Oh My Wow! What a creepy and horrific read we have here. Be careful what you think of others, passing judgements comes with consequences.

This is a twisted and dark story of what our sometimes negative, judgemental, and hurtful thoughts can do to one another. Are our thoughts really all our own?

I Love Monique's writing style, there is always a lesson to be learned.

Highly recommended shory story!

This is just not a spooky house (my niece) calls them that instead of haunted houses. You are randomly pick with 5 strangers who you never met before. I am not going to say to much because this is a must read. I gave this book 5 stars it does keep you guessing until the end. I had problems putting this book down.

I was stopped in my tracks by the giant grammatical error in the second sentence and it all kind of went sideways from there. Very juvenile and predictable. Probably would really seem scary to middle grades?
