I liked this book but did not love it. I thought it had a great premise with a good main gal and a swoony guy. There were just somethings that bugged me.

Things I Loved:
1. Ellis loved herself at the size she is. There was no losing weight to have to get her HEA
2. Michael loved her just the way she was from the beginning, and made sure when she would make jokes about her size she knew that he did not like her talking about herself that way.
3. Walter, Ellis's dad, he loves her period, he may not sa
I'm always in two minds when I pick up a romance with a "curvy" or "larger" woman as heroine. Is it going to spend the whole time trying to prove that non-stick-thin women really can have romance too? (Answer: do we really need to write a whole Fat Girl Romance sub-genre to confirm the bleedin' obvious?) Is it going to go on and on and on about the heroine's self-image issues related to her size? (Answer: show me any woman of any size or body shape who doesn't have issues related to appearance.. ...more

I really liked this book it was a funny, sassy and had some tearjerker moments. This book has everything you expect in a romantic comedy: their is an ex-boyfriend who doesn't want to be an ex, a jealous older sister, dysfunctional families, a hunky leading man, a sassy leading woman, misunderstandings, and a happily ever after.

Ellis runs into an old crush Mike who used to date her beautiful older sister. Ellis wants n

This was so refreshing to pick up. To be honest, I did not expect much from it. It's a romance novel about a plus sized woman who is just out of a failed relationship. I've read stories like this before and, generally, I am so overwhelmed by the heroine having to change and make her life "better" by becoming thinner, that I lose interest in the character and the plot.

Not here.

This book is adorable. I did have some problems with it (see below) but mostly I devoured it (no pun intended). Ellis is a plus size girl who has changed her whole life lately and the last thing she expects is Mike to come back into her life. They had only met a couple times before but a crush is a crush after all. I loved Ellis. She is so snarky and snippy and has a quick sense of humor. She is the kind that can laugh at herself and can make others laugh
I loved it! Dangerous Curves Ahead was a light, refreshing read about love, trust and acceptance. It was also laugh-out-loud funny and a tear-jerker. Any book that can elicit such a broad set of emotions and feelings deserves a five-star rating!

Ellison "Ellis" Garret is changing her life. For the better. After a damaging relationship with an emotionally and mentally abusive jack-ass, Ellis has kicked him to the curb and dived into making her dreams a reality head-on. Having been a succes
A fun and sassy novel. I liked that Ms. Jamison showed Ellis's confidence as well as her extreme insecurities - Ellis rang true to me. Less realistic were Mike (whose voice sounded like a woman writing a man rather than a male character, if that makes sense) and the story's almost cartoon-like villains. The breakup-makeup scenes between Ellis and Mike got to be a bit too much, but I do want to stress that I liked the book overall.

Ellis's father completely stole the show for me. I loved that Ms.

Once upon a time, this would have been an “ugly duckling” type of story, and the way that Ellis would have achieved her HEA would have been to become a “beautiful swan” by losing weight.

I hate that message and I’m beyond ecstatic that the author didn’t go there. We’re not all size 2. We’re also not all 5’6”. Dangerous Curves Ahead is about a woman finding her bliss in the work sense and her HEA in the romantic sense by being true to herself.

I had a terrific time reading Mike and Ellis' story.
It was laugh out loud, funny, sweet and DIRTY!
Mike is now one of my all time favorite beta-heroes. He's the best.
I can't wait to read Colin's story!

The last person Ellis thought she’d bump into while buying a cookie was Detective Hot Pants … er, Detective Michael Edwards. Four years ago, Ellis was crushing hard for the hot cop, but instead of reciprocating her feelings he went for her pretty and skinnier sister! Now, face to face with Mike, the memories of rejection come rushing back. To add insult to injury, Mike doesn’t even recognize her! However, he does find her snarky attitude and curvy body wildly attractive. But Ellis isn’t going to ...more

It was such a fun read!
I really wanted to love this book. There were so many likable elements, but they are overpowered by the constant reminder that the heroine is, gasp...fat. I am not talking about the blog posts at the beginning of each chapter. Those were quirky and cute. I am talking about how we can not seem to go more than five pages without somebody mentioning it. So annoying!! I get it, she isn't a size 2. She isn't regular old curvy gal. This could have been so much better without all the fat bashing. It wa ...more

On one hand, this was one of the better BBW romance novels I've read. On the other, it was exactly like every other BBW romance novel I've read.

I liked most of the side characters and the fact that Mike wasn't tempted to cheat on Ellis (despite her fear he would, which, given his past, I understood). I loved the character of Walter and how supportive Ellis' friends were. There were parts of the plot that I enjoyed. The overall tone of the book was fun.

However, it did have it's problems. I got an
This book started out strong, but fizzled out for me. For one thing, the book was way too long. A lot of the middle could have been cut out and it would have been the same story. I got tired of Ellis constantly putting herself down and not believing that Mike could actually want her. Then all the breakups and reconciliations. Enough already! Did you know Ellis considers herself fat? It's only mentioned 938475203853472 times in this book. Who introduces themselves to her boyfriend's mother on the ...more
The most refreshing thing about this book, was that the main character, a woman, wasn't your typical stick figure, blonde, gorgeous girl, who got all the men, all the time. No, Ellis, was a full figured woman, with dark hair, who was taller than most and had the sarcasm to match it. She's very content and happy in her body, with only minimal self conscience issues about it. She's strong. Determined and hysterical.

Ellis just moved back to her hometown, after quitting her job of being an attorney

This is the first book in the Perfect Fit series by Sugar Jamison. I received the book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I am the first to admit that I do judge a book, at least initially, by its cover. Unless it is an author I know, I am more likely to look at the cover than the genre when browsing for a book. This one intrigued me with a plus sized heroine on the the front, an almost unheard of scenario. Combined with a title like Dangerous Curves, I was quickly clicking on it a ...more

Riponevo grandi speranz

Ellis Garret is not your usual romance heroine in some ways, primarily her body type-curvy. In many other ways she is all of the things we love in our heroines- smart, ambitious, doesn’t take crap from people and a really nice person. When she runs into her long ago crush in line at the bakery and he can’t remember her name she doesn’t let him off the hook and remind him of her name. Mike Edwards knows that he has met her but never slept with her because she looks like a white picket fence type ...more

Have you ever started a book purely for its entertainment value, and came out learning a few life lessons by the end of the book? No? Well, if you read this book you might. I'll be honest and admit I never start a romance novel thinking I'll learn something new. Usually, it's because the cover has a hot guy on the cover or it sounds like it'll have some hot sex in it (I'm being honest here, guys!), but I've never picked up a b

well, this book is too long, I mean there is just to much inner conflict (either Hero or heroine- Yes I love him/her, but I do not wanna admit it, no I can not love him/ her, no, no,no,...yes! I do love him/ her , I wanna spend life with him/ her ...oh, come on already make a choice...I know, sometimes in real life you do not know what to do, but this was a bit too much...)
It started good, really good with witty heroine, full of sass, Hero was great, a bit macho... and them in the middle of the

Real rating: 3.5 (dangit Goodreads, get on the half star train).

I should know not to read cheesey romances when I am already emotional, but I did it anyways. And enjoyed every minute of it. Depending on who the second book is about, I will most likely be picking it up.

This book lost a full star with the epilogue as I don't care how much you think you know your SO, you should never (view spoiler)

Other than the ridiculous thing that was pulled in the epilogue, I enjoyed this book although there were some over the top moments. Ellis seems together and ok with her weight most of the time, but she has

I enjoyed this book.It has interesting and funny characters, with people you have to love and villains that you have to hate. And the characters grow, they learn something!!!!
I loved the humor and I identified with some parts of the book(rare thing these days).
It is a reading that I would recommend to my friends.

I loved it!! My first Sugar Jamison book and enjoyed reading it.
It started off good, lapsed into a bit boring, picked up for a few chapters, but fell into the boring again.
Ellis left him because she warned him not to check out when he is unsure, yet she had her guard up the entire relationship and was always in doubt. Not a good look to be a hypocrite.

To all the novels about BBW: I have only read one book that did a accurate portrayal of a thick woman. Most big women I know are not insecure. And Ellis being a designer of clothes shouldn't be that stuck on h

Dangerous Curves Ahead is a fun, contemporary romance novel. Our heroine, Ellis Garrett, is the adopted daughter of a hippy, professor mom and an autistic-like dad with a sister who lives to torment her. Her sister is beautiful but jealous of Ellis's brains and spunk. Ellis has a law degree from Harvard, an ex-boyfriend who was controlling and verbally abusive and overly needy, and a desire to start over back home in a little town as a clothing shop proprietor who fits alternately sized women.
