Old fashioned puzzle mysteries in short story form featuring Francis Quarles, an obese private detective who is a throwback to the Golden Age of Detection. Most of these tales are only about 5-10 pages with the exception of "The Mystery Of Centre Court" a 100 page novella. The solution usually hinges on one small detail: a missing handkerchief, a misplaced hat, a careless comment made by the murderer.
