I grew up on Ziglar, and I like to dip back into his work from time to time. It's been years since I read SYATT, and it seemed a good starting book for my new goal of reading at least 30 min of personal development books each day.

The book is structured like a staircase, with the idea that if you build on the foundations of each step before moving to the next one, then you will eventually make it to the Top and find success. The early steps are about self-image and attitude and goal setting. Thi

I've been disappointed in the past by books labeled as "Business Classics" ("Think and Grow Rich" comes to mind), but "See You At The Top" definitely deserves this moniker. Ziglar provides a realistic and sustainable framework on how to achieve success. His model of focusing on self-image, relationships, goals, attitude, work and desire (and how to improve each) allow you to focus on what is most important. His chapters on goal-setting are some of the best I've read on the topic. My only complai ...more
Liked the ideas, but didn't appreciate the occasional Christian and anti-Communist tirade.

I found Zig Zigar's 'See you at the top' to be a most pleasurable read. The book is well written and easy to digest. Zig conveys his lessons in the form of short stories and personal experiences, all of which are easy to relate to and easy to identify with. The book is a good motivation read. If you want to make a change in you're life or just looking for that little inspiration, this book will provide it. As an overview the book concentrates on building `YOU', by looking at self-image, relation ...more

This is often referred to many as 'the one that started it all'. Well, at least of the more modern era, perhaps...

I read the Arabic edition of this book. The book can simply be summarized in the following phrase:

"It's your ATTITUDE not your APTITUDE that ultimately determines your ALTITUDE in life"
Manoj Arora
My learnings:
(1) Winning is not everything, but the effort to win is.
(2) You can get everything you want in life, if you can help enough people get what they want in life.
(3) Just like a balloon of any color would rise in the air, it is always what is inside you that will make you rise.
(4) The difference between the big shot and the little shot is that the little shot, when it kept on shooting, became a big shot
(5) It is not who is right that's important. What is important is what is right

Full of inspiration and information about how to live your best life - sorry Oprah, Zig wins. Zig has positively influenced so many of my favorite authors, now I know why.

Uplifting PMA-type book from one of the masters of positive mental attitude pick-me-ups. Worth reading if you are into sales, or just want to see what all the hype is about. Many years ago, I had the opportunity to listen to Ziglar in person when I spent a short-lived half-summer selling books door to door. It was interesting watching a hundred or more newly hired salespeople grow in excitement as they were pumped up by Ziglar's session. Myself, I couldn't get into it, and found myself getting m ...more

wonderful book everybody has to either read it or even here it from youtube which will be better cause they will here directly from Zig Ziglar himself.
a lot of our attitude should be changed and that wouldn't happen unless we recognize those attitude. we should change them cause they affect out life and our feeling without Awareness.

From Seth Godin in his top 3 business books of all time:

The Tom Peters Seminar. Tom has created so much of value, and I have trouble picking. But it's either this or the Wow book.

See You at the Top. Zig Ziglar's opus, still the most focused and personal motivational book ever.

The Places That Scare You. Please don't tell me that Pema Chodron's work doesn't qualify as a business book. For me, what I do all day is my life, and what I do all day is business. I
Much of this material is familiar to me. Nevertheless, I think that Zig is a great teacher to return and explore his ideas. Some materials feel out of date, although the edition I am reading has been brought up to date for the era of connected communication. I have read See You at the Top before, and believe this is a great time to deepen my understanding of his message. Success is often found in the fundamentals, and clearly ZZ is a master of success and sales. I have much to learn from his met ...more
This book will never be out dated. The ideas, philosophies, and metaphors will stay with you for life and can be applied anywhere. Zig is real, down to earth, and offers no excuses and doesn't allow you to offer them to achieve the successes that life has to offer. The book builds, helping the reader to better different areas of their life one at a time, ultimately building to the whole person. This book is never done, because you can always pick it right back up at anytime and start again. For ...more

See You At the Top was a disappointing read. I chose it because of Zig Ziglar and who he is. Knowing his history, I felt that my reading would be incomplete if I didn't add this book to my list. However, I found it hard to read and keep reading. Much of the material is dated and at times, narrow-minded. Zig Ziglar is an exhilarating speaker. If you are interested, listen to him speak...just leave this book unread.

I enjoyed Zig's book very much even when I wish it had been updated to current events and stories. Most of the stories and principles are timeless, but I kept longing for some current stories and especially the last chapter.
The basics are all there in that one does not get to success on the elevator but rather steps, which he clearly describes.
A worthy read!
This is a great book and has some old cliches that ironically still hold true. A classic self help book. Zig Ziglar is an icon and is still doing motivational seminars as of this writing...July 2007. TAcoma, Seattle: July 2007 Get Motivated seminar. Especially good information can be found in chaptor 4... 15 steps to a healthier self image.

Liked the overall ideas in the book. Found a lot of it to be offensive. Zig didn't tolerate much. Didn't respect women. Thought you became homosexual because you didn't have enough God. Found it wasn't acceptable to drink in any form or enjoy the pleasures of life. Pretty messed up. Had a hard time with him.

Zig's principles he teaches are timeless and his audio book is better than the read. A Bit wordy and if you never saw Zig live or on video this book would come across as dated and a bit over words. But Zig was one of the greatest trainers on Sales in recent History and his Wisdom will live on forever.

Zig Ziglar is one of my favorite motivational speakers. I saw him in person at a 2000 seminar. His See You at the Top book is written at the 5th grade level but the way he gets across his ideas with stories from his personal experiences are engaging, humorous and inspirational, in my opinion.
Quinn Arnau
I am 56 pages into this book and it so inspired me to want to know more that I have spent the last hour updating my goodreads and applying the principles I have learned in this book. I am kind of afraid of this book though, like the end might advise me to drink kool aid or something
I think there are very good points and ways of thinking presented. However, I dont like how there are strong religious parts. Seemed to argue that secularism and homosexuality will bring down America, etc. But, other than that, does open up your mind to a lot of good stuff.
David Peterson
This has been one of my favorite books I've read. It's very inspiring and filled with lots of life long truths. No matter who you are or what your aspirations in life are this book will help build a strong foundation of character. Highly recommend this book to everyone.
How to change your glasses ? How to see things positively ? I wish I had fully learned from Mr. Zig Ziglar how can I apply "now here" theory and see the opportunities wherever I were. Zig talks about difficult things as simple as he could , that made him special .
