Not quite as fabulous as The Shouting Wind, possibly because I loved Kay so much that Abigail (her daughter) being thoughtless and hurting Kay made me mad at Abigail. I get the feeling from the beginning of the third book that Abby never really grows up much. There are some really beautiful descriptive passages, and well-drawn characters (especially Gillian. I wish we knew more about Claudia - I could do with a book about her, too!)
