If you think you know who Anne Boleyn was, think again. This book will change everything.

Anne Boleyn is undoubtedly the most controversial Queen consort that has ever sat on the English throne. Best remembered for her role as Henry VIII’s victim and the mother of the Virgin Queen, Anne Boleyn became one of the most popular heroines of the Tudor England.

Hmmm. Some points were fresh and interesting (such as the rebuttal to the tradition that Anne served Queen Claude in France) but my god does this book need serious editing. I assume that the author has a first language other than English... Don't get me wrong, her English is still better than my any-other-language, but the grammar is appalling and sometimes the words chosen are wrong in context. The author should definitely have spent the time and effort receiving a professional edit.

And it is V

I just have finished reading that book. As I have never been particularly interested in AB I find that piece of work extremeply interesting. I have been familiar with Sylwia S. Zupanec's articles for years and I desperately wanted to get that book written by her. Although Anne Boleyn didn't caught my attention either on The Tudors or in other means of pop culture (I think Henry VIII had at least two more interesting wives) I have never loathed this historical figure. I guess I was being rather ...more

I really enjoyed this book as it's a refreshing look at the life of Anne Boleyn. I tend to have a romanticized version of Anne Boleyn in my mind as she's one of my favourite Historical figures. If you are anything like me, you might be surprised at the negative light Anne is cast in. However all humans have a positive and negative side so it's very possible she did have a vindictive side as well. I used to believe Eustace Chapuys was a gossip and villain as portrayed in The Tudors tv show but ...more

Great book that debunks the popular myths about Anne Boleyn. Most people think Natalie Dormer when they thing Anne Boleyn from her stunning portrayal in the "Tudors". Zuoanec rocks long standing perceptions about both Anne and her sister. She challenges whether they really attended the Austrian and French courts. She draws a three dimensional portrait of the woman who rock 16th century England to bring down a dynastic marriage as well as helped changed the church in England. Here, she is not ...more
