I love many of Mr. Peacock’s work but this one just wasn’t the same. I was hoping for a fun adventure on the Big Island but it didn’t deliver. Most of the fun characters are fun and entertaining, but the main character, Janet, and her plight just left a bad taste in my mouth that I couldn’t overcome, and because her actions are the starting point for the whole book it’s too hard to overlook it.

Very, very strange. Sometimes I wondered what the point to this story was, and I guess there never really was one, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Some parts were really interesting, but overall the story was really disturbing and ended very strangely. I would say it was "spiritual."
